Now, you might be wondering, "What's the deal with reinforcing steel (also known as rebar)?". In a nutshell, rebar is like the backbones of a building. It’s a key ingredient that gives strength to concrete so that it doesn’t crack, ensuring buildings and infrastructure remain strong and stable for years to come.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Detailer/Drafter will be responsible for the rebar placing drawings of our multiple construction projects in the province of Alberta.

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Produce placing drawings according to Structural Drawings;
• Review drawings to make sure there are no errors and that they comply with Canadian and government standards;
• Release bar lists to be used for the manufacturing of reinforcing steel length, diameter, and bending requirements;
• Monitor drawing submission schedule according to the project schedule;
• Communicate regularly with our Technical Coordinators and Project Managers;
• Other administrative tasks.

General Skills

• Degree or diploma in technical engineering, architecture, or building design;
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role;
• 1 to 2 years of experience with rebar;
• Experience in Autocad (required);
• Experience in Rebarcad (asset);
• Must be able to read and understand drawings.
