Thanks to his business acumen, visionary qualities and daily innovations, coupled with the importance he places on hiring qualified staff, AGF Group today offers a wide range of complementary products and services.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 1973, Mr. Gendron graduated magna cum laude from the \u00c9cole Polytechnique with a degree in civil engineering. In 1981, he joined Acier Gendron, founded by his father, Laurent Gendron, and became the company\u2019s president. Under his guidance, the company grew and became a Quebec leader in the supply and installation of rebar as well as in the installation of prestressed post-tensioning systems. In 1999, Acier Gendron became Acier AGF, after merging with a competitor. This was the beginning of a very prosperous period: a new specialty (scaffolding and access) was added and the company consolidated its network of plants in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and in the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East. AGF Group, founded in 2008, now comprises 36 business units on four continents and employs more than 2,000 people. A new market niche\u2014innovation\u2014brings an environmental dimension to the company\u2019s services.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ever since he was a student, Mr. Gendron has always been involved in various associations, including \u00c9cole Polytechnique and the Verdun Hospital Foundation. He provides financial support to numerous causes and encourages his employees\u2019 initiatives in this area.
