The AGF Group Foundation launched its activities just over a year ago. This first year was devoted primarily to laying the Foundation\u2019s administrative groundwork. We also toured the Group\u2019s business units in order to raise awareness of the Foundation\u2019s goals, such as supporting local causes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Community involvement by the companies that comprise AGF Group is very important for mister Serge Gendron, President, who wants to promote and support the local initiatives set up by the employees. Mr. Gendron and the board members are very pleased to see how quickly some of the business units have heeded the call. We would like to thank the people who have been actively involved as the AGF Group Foundation\u2019s ambassadors.<\/p>\n

It is important to acknowledge the creativity that people have shown in coming up with fundraising opportunities while at the same time creating interesting activities for employees. Here are a few examples that might inspire other companies:<\/p>\n

 \u2022 Pizza day
\n \u2022 50\/50 draw
\n \u2022 Greeting card sale
\n \u2022 Bake sale
\n \u2022 Barbecue
\n \u2022 Jeans day
\n \u2022 Bottle drive
\n \u2022 Draw for tickets for sporting events and concerts
\n \u2022 Exhibition of customized cars<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Although we often think one little gesture won\u2019t make any difference, we must always bear in mind that every dollar\u2014and even every cent\u2014counts. Business units such as AGF Steel, Winsafe and Hydro Mobile managed to raise more than $1,000 each through a series of activities.  And above all, remember that the AGF Group Foundation has made a commitment to match (up to $500) the funds raised locally to have an even greater impact on the causes supported by the employees.    <\/p>\n
