Nearly a year ago, AGF Group acquired some of the assets of Olympic Metals Ltd., a company specializing in rebar and wire mesh, founded in 1976 by Livin Gallien. Now known as AGF – Olympic Inc., this Caraquet-based company employs about 20 people, including the founder’s three sons, Gilles, Guy and Jean-René. In 2005, a third generation of Galliens joined the New Brunswick company.  <\/p>\n

AGF – Olympic’s notable achievements include the Confederation Bridge between PEI and New Brunswick, construction of the Moncton airport, the Superior Propane Centre in Moncton, the highwasy between Moncton and Fredericton, and Fredericton and Edmundston, as well as several wind farms. The Caraquet plant also produces specialty products other than rebar, such as snow crab and rock crab traps. It assembles more than 1,500 traps per year at the plant, making it he largest trap manufacturer in the Maritimes.   <\/p>\n

Hace casi un año, el Grupo AGF procedió a la adquisición de ciertos activos de la empresa Olympic Metals Ltd., especializada en refuerzos de acero y en entramados metálicos, fundada en 1976 por el Sr. Livin Gallien. Ahora llamada AGF – Olympic Inc., esta empresa de Caraquet está compuesta de alrededor veinte empleados, tres son hijos del fundador: Gilles, Guy y Jean-René. En 2005, una tercera generación Gallien se unió a la empresa de Nuevo Brunswick.<\/p>\n

Entre los grandes trabajos que distinguen a AGF – Olympic, se encuentran el puente de la Confederación que une la Isla del Príncipe Eduardo a Nuevo Brunswick, la construcción del aeropuerto de Moncton, el Superior Propane Centre de Moncton, las autopistas entre Moncton y Fredericton, así como entre Fredericton y Edmundston y varias centrales eólicas.
