The AGF Group Foundation held its third fundraiser on May 18 at the Toundra pavilion on Île Notre-Dame in Montreal. With the theme Expo AGF, the international-flavoured dining experience transported the 200 guests to eight regions of the world where AGF has operations. The event generated $216,000 in net proceeds. <\/p>\n

A window on AGF International <\/strong><\/p>\n

AGF has been active on the international scene for more than 15 years and today has operations in a dozen countries around the world. the Foundation wanted to introduce its business partners to all of these achievements, communities and cultures. “Expo AGF was designed to illustrate the AGF experience abroad,” said Catherine Gendron, the Foundation’s director. On May 18, more than 200 suppliers, customers and other partners came together at La Toundra, Expo 67’s Canada Pavilion, where they enjoyed the Expo AGF culinary experience. <\/p>\n

For this event, eight acclaimed chefs and a sommelier agreed to take on an unusual challenge: create dishes inspired by the cuisines of Costa Rica, the French Caribbean, Peru and the UAE, and pair each one with the perfect wine from Canada, France, Chile or the United States. Four culinary styles and four wine-producing regions to take the taste buds on a trip around the world.  <\/p>\n

Investing in our communities  <\/strong><\/p>\n

Expo AGF raised $216,000, nearly 25% more than the last annual fundraiser. “The lion’s share of this money will go supporting employees’ community involvement projects,” said Serge Gendron. The Foundation’s 35 ambassadors are already hard at work, discussing projects, supporting each other and taking action in their respective business units. Last year, they organized 65 activities with their colleagues and raised $27,000 to invest in causes that are important to them. For each project completed, the Foundation is committed to matching the amount raised by each locally completed project. Since it was established in 2012, it has distributed more than $1.5 million to various causes. <\/p>\n

The AGF Group Foundation will also donate $50,000 to La Tablée des Chefs, a non-profit organization with a mission to feed people in need and offer cooking courses for young people. Like AGF, La Tablée is headquartered in Longueuil, and its activities reach across the country and even abroad. Our contribution will serve to fund its Les brigades culinaires training program, which will be offered at more than 200 secondary schools by 2019. Thousands of young people will thus have the opportunity to develop skills so they can eat better and feed their family in future.  <\/p>\n

Expo AGF haca viajar a 200 personas y se recaudan 216 000 CAD<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La Fundación Grupo AGF organizó su tercera cena de beneficencia el pasado 18 de mayo en el pabellón La Toundra de la Île Notre-Dame. Con el tema Expo AGF<\/em>, la experiencia gastronómica con sabores internacionales transportó a sus 200 comensales, durante una noche, a ocho regiones del mundo en las que AGF está presente. Los beneficios netos del evento: 216 000 CAD.<\/p>\n

Una ventana hacia AGF International<\/strong><\/p>\n

AGF se abrió al internacional desde hace más de quince años. Hoy se ha implantado en alrededor de una docena de países en el planeta. Es la misma cantidad de realizaciones, decoraciones y culturas que la Fundación deseaba darles a conocer a sus socios de negocios. “Expo AGF<\/em> fue concebida para hacer vivir la experiencia AGF al internacional”, subraya Catherine Gendron, Directora de la Fundación. El pasado 18 de mayo, más de 200 proveedores, clientes y otros colaboradores respondieron al llamado. Reunidos en La Toundra, pabellón de Canadá durante la Expo 67 de Montreal, vivieron la experiencia gastronómica Expo AGF.<\/em><\/p>\n

Para la ocasión, ocho chefs y una sumiller de renombre aceptaron un desafío bastante particular: diseñar platos inéditos inspirados en la gastronomía de Costa Rica, de las Antillas francesas, de Perú, de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos y, para cada una, seleccionar un vino de Canadá, Francia, Chile o Estados Unidos que combinara perfectamente. Cuatro estilos culinarios, cuatro regiones vitícolas; no hacía falta nada más para hacer viajar las papilas gustativas de nuestros comensales a las cuatro esquinas del mundo…<\/p>\n

Una inversión para nuestras comunidades<\/strong><\/p>\n

Expo AGF<\/em> generó un beneficio de 216 000 CAD, casi 25% más que nuestro evento anual del año pasado. “La mayor parte servirá para apoyar los proyectos de implicación social de los empleados”, afirma Serge Gendron. De hecho, los 35 embajadores de la Fundación ya han puesto manos a la obra: dialogan, se ayudan mutuamente y actúan en su unidad de negocios respectiva. Junto con sus colegas, organizaron 65 actividades y reunieron 27 000 CAD el año pasado, que invirtieron en causas queridas para ellos. Ahora bien, por cada proyecto realizado, la Fundación se comprometió a igualar el monto recaudado, duplicando así los esfuerzos desplegados localmente. Desde su creación en el 2012, se han entregado más de 1.5 millones de dólares de esta manera.<\/p>\n

La Fundación Grupo AGF otorgará igualmente 50 000 CAD a La Tablée des Chefs<\/em>, un organismo sin fines de lucro cuya misión es alimentar a las personas necesitadas y desarrollar la educación culinaria de los jóvenes. Al igual que AGF, La Tablée<\/em> estableció su sede social en Longueuil y sus actividades se extienden a través del país e incluso al extranjero. Nuestra contribución servirá para financiar su programa de formación Les brigades culinaires<\/em> en más de 200 escuelas secundarias de aquí al 2019. Miles de jóvenes tendrán la oportunidad de desarrollar sus competencias para alimentarse mejor y finalmente alimentar a su familia.<\/p>\n
