“La force ouvrière” a tribute to Michel Chartrand by Armand Vaillancourt​<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A news conference was held on June 7, 2013 to present “La force ouvrière, un hommage collectif à Michel Chartrand,” a work by the acclaimed sculptor Armand Vaillancourt. Some of the project’s contributors were in attendance, including our president, Serge Gendron (centre of photo), who donated the rebar for the project. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Work on this monumental sculpture began on August 10 last year in the Michel-Chartrand regional park in Longueuil. It was erected on a concrete base with a volume of 600 m3 and 60 tonnes of rebar. And rebar is synonymous with AGF Group!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Some of you were involved in this project. Stéphanie Lagacé (technician-project manager at Acier AGF) and Pierre-Luc Daneault (technician-project manager at Acier ATR) worked together to detail the rebar that was then fabricated at the Longueuil plant and installed on site by our steel workers.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to all those who worked closely or indirectly on this project, which honours the memory of the great humanist and union organizer Michel Chartrand. <\/p>\n

“La fuerza obrera” Homenaje a Michel Chartrand por Armand Vaillancourt<\/strong><\/h2>\n

El 7 de julio de 2013 se realizó una conferencia de prensa con el fin de promover la campaña “La fuerza obrera, homenaje colectivo a Michel Chartrand”, obra concebida por el célebre escultor Armand Vaillancourt. Algunos colaboradores estuvieron presentes, entre ellos, nuestro presidente, Serge Gendron (al centro de la foto) quien proporcionó gratuitamente el acero de refuerzo para el proyecto.<\/p>\n

Es así que el 10 de agosto de 2015 comenzaron los trabajos de esta obra monumental, la cual fue instalada en el parque regional Michel-Chartrand en Longueuil. La escultura fue erigida sobre una base de concreto de un volumen de 600 m3<\/sup> y 60 toneladas de acero de refuerzo. ¡Y quien dice refuerzo dice Grupo AGF!<\/p>\n

Efectivamente, algunos de nosotros trabajaron en el proyecto. Stéphanie Lagacé (técnica-encargada de proyecto en Acier AGF) y Pierre-Luc Daneault (técnico-encargado de proyecto en Acier AGF) trabajaron juntos para detallar el acero de refuerzo que fue transformado en las fábricas de Longueuil antes de que nuestros chatarreros lo colocaran en la obra.<\/p>\n

Felicidades a todos los que trabajaron de cerca o de lejos en el proyecto y que contribuyeron a la memoria del gran humanista y sindicalista Michel Chartrand.<\/p>\n
