Our second time around and a second chance to touch the hearts of AGF Group employees with our Foundation Week.<\/p>\n

From December 5 to 9, the Foundation’s ambassadors and I focused our efforts on raising awareness of the Foundation’s mission among the Group’s employees, and thanking and celebrating those employees who have made a difference through their community involvement, whether or not through our Foundation.<\/p>\n

This year’s activities were more varied and more creative than last year’s. First, some of the Foundation’s ambassadors and friends brainstormed on the best ways to achieve our objectives. After some discussion, Daniel Matte, Islam Khan, Sylvain Boudreault, Joëlle Meloche and I came up with a plan for the week. Information either emailed or included with pay stubs, special desktop wallpaper for the week, daily mailings of factsheets about various aspects of the Foundation, production of eye-catching placemats, participation by the Foundation’s ambassadors as well as Board members and managers from the various organizations we support: these were the activities we used to raise awareness of our Foundation. The week culminated with mini-gatherings at each business unit to highlight local charitable initiatives carried out in the past 12 months and acknowledge employees who stood out for their community involvement.<\/p>\n

Judging by the comments I received, the most effective initiative was the factsheet that illustrated how the organizations use the funds the Foundation raises. Many of my colleagues were greatly impressed by the photos of the activities, as well as comments and words of appreciation by the managers of these organizations. Some of them wrote to tell me how proud they felt to be part of a company that places human values at the forefront.<\/p>\n

During this week, I did a tour of the five rebar divisions in Ontario. Everywhere I went, I was warmly received, by Mohammed, Islam, Roxanne, Amber, Lindsay, Nadia, Maxime, Sam, Philip, Dave and their team members. Many thanks for your cordial welcome and for making time for the AGF Group Foundation in your already busy week.<\/p>\n

Un poco más de variedad y de creatividad este año <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Segundo año, segundo intento, segunda oportunidad de llegar al corazón de los empleados del Grupo AGF con nuestra Semana de la Fundación.<\/p>\n

Del 5 al 9 de diciembre, mis esfuerzos y los de los embajadores de la Fundación se dedicaron a dar a conocer más la misión de la Fundación entre los empleados de Grupo AGF y a agradecer y a poner de relieve a los empleados que hicieron una diferencia por su implicación social, ya sea por medio de la fundación o no.<\/p>\n

Las actividades propuestas este año para llegar a estos fines fueron un poco más variadas y creativas que las del año pasado. Para empezar, algunos embajadores y amigos de la Fundación reflexionaron sobre la mejor manera de llegar a nuestros objetivos. Después de algunas pláticas, Daniel Matte, Islam Khan, Sylvain Boudreault, Joëlle Meloche y yo decidimos el menú de la semana. Información enviada por correo electrónico, enviada en las fichas de nómina, un fondo de pantalla especial durante la semana, envíos diarios de fichas informativas sobre los diferentes aspectos de la Fundación, la producción de atractivos mantelitos, la participación no solo de los embajadores, sino también de los miembros del consejo de administración de la Fundación y de los diferentes administradores de los organismos que apoyamos, he ahí las acciones que creamos para hacer brillar a la Fundación Grupo AGF durante esta semana. Todo culminó con pequeñas reuniones en cada unidad de negocios para destacar las actividades caritativas locales emprendidas durante los últimos doce meses y para valorizar a las personas que se destacan por su implicación social.<\/p>\n

Por los comentarios recibidos, creo que la acción que tuvo el mayor impacto fue la ficha de información que ilustró la manera en la que los organismos utilizaron el dinero que recibieron de la Fundación. Las fotografías de las actividades, al igual que los comentarios y los agradecimientos de los administradores de estos organismos, marcaron profundamente la imaginación de varios de mis colegas. Varios me escribieron para hablarme de su emoción, de su orgullo por formar parte de una empresa en la que el valor humano está en primer plano.<\/p>\n

Por mi parte, hice un recorrido por las cinco diferentes unidades de acero de refuerzo en Ontario. Cada vez, fui recibida cálidamente por Mohammed, Islam, Roxanne, Amber, Lindsay, Nadia, Maxime, Sam, Philip, Dave y todos los miembros de sus equipos. Gracias por su recibimiento y por haber hecho un lugar para la Fundación Grupo AGF en una semana tan ocupada.<\/p>\n
