On March 11, AGF employees had the opportunity to take a private tour of the ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada facility in Contrecoeur-Ouest. During their tour of the steel plant and laminating mill, they observed the melting process for scrap metal in the arc furnace, the transfer to the vat in the ladle furnace, pouring the billets, and cutting and laminating the billets to make rebar.<\/p>\n

Following this tour and in support of the AGF Group Foundation, $1,070 will be donated to the Centre de l’épanouissement de l’enfant Pinocchios<\/a>, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide educators and parents with stimulating sensory, motor and intellectual activities for children with multiple developmental delays, whether or not they have been formally diagnosed.<\/p>\n

Una visita “afinada”<\/strong><\/h2>\n

El pasado 11 de marzo, los empleados de AGF tuvieron la dicha de participar en una visita privada a las instalaciones de ArcelorMittal, Productos Largos, en Contrecœur-Oeste, Canadá. Al realizar la visita de la acerería y de la laminadora, pudieron presenciar la fundición de chatarra en el horno de arco, el traslado de una cuba al interior de un horno de cuchara, el vaciado de lingotes, y el corte y el laminado de los lingotes para finalmente crear las barras de refuerzo.<\/p>\n

Gracias a esta visita y al apoyo de la Fundación Grupo AGF, el Centro de Plenitud Infantil “Pinocchios”<\/a>, un organismo sin fines de lucro que tiene como misión ofrecerles a padres y educadores actividades de estimulación sensorial, motriz e intelectual para los niños con retrasos de desarrollo múltiples (diagnosticados o no) recibirán 1070 CAD.<\/p>\n
