For most of those years, employees have been wary of me.&nbsp; I felt that employees avoided eye contact with me; I also felt that bustling meeting rooms have gone silent when I walk in and I have even had people lower their conversations to a whisper and stare at me as I walk by.&nbsp;&nbsp; Anyone else would get a serious complex; but to me it is an unfortunate aspect&nbsp;of the job.&nbsp; Employees typically don&rsquo;t know what to think about Human Resources; we are the perceived equivalent of the school Principal.&nbsp; We are the guardians of the policy, we conduct disciplinary meetings we even terminate employees.&nbsp;&nbsp; Now this may sound like the worst job ever but actually there is so much more to what we do that makes it worthwhile! &nbsp;Believe it or not, we are actually here to help both employees and management; you are our customers &#8211; so what can we do for you?<\/p>\n<p>Please do not feel intimidated by your Human Resources department &ndash; we want to help you.&nbsp; Your success is part of our success which in turn makes the company a success!&nbsp;&nbsp; You may or may not know that we are always available to listen to you and offer advice whether you have an issue with another employee, your manager or if you just want to voice your concerns about something.&nbsp; Did you also know we are very knowledgeable about your benefits program?&nbsp; Any benefits questions you may have we probably have the answer to, if we don&rsquo;t we can find out pretty fast for you.&nbsp;&nbsp; We are also able to assist you with interpreting company policy, discuss and assist you in maternity or sick leave of absences and even help you navigate and decipher provincial employment laws! &nbsp;Your HR team can provide you will all of the above services and more and you can be rest assured that we do all of this confidentially.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The HR department loves to work strategically with the managers to ensure we are addressing employee needs and issues properly.&nbsp; We are here to assist managers with any disciplinary issues, concerns or even how to recognize an amazing employee!&nbsp; We can help with reflection regarding structure, engagement, mobilization, succession planning and coaching for new employees or managers who experience an unusual situation. We are always available to offer feedback and advice to our managers on any employee situation. &nbsp;&nbsp;We can offer assistance with employee reviews, performance and development plans or even advice on how to help an employee through a difficult time.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, your HR team comprises of Annick Boulanger, Director of HR, &nbsp;Stephanie Allard, HR Advisor to AGF- Group and Gabrielle Ouellet, HR Coordinator for AGF-Group (all three are based in Longueuil, QC) and myself, Summer Elliott, HR Advisor for AGF-Rebar (based in Markham, ON).&nbsp; All four of us are committed to providing our services to all employees with the utmost respect and professional ethics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of the most rewarding aspects of my job (and I know my colleagues will concur) is knowing that I&rsquo;ve helped someone and perhaps even made a small difference in their day.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Your HR department is committed to providing all employees excellent customer service so please come to us and do not fear; we are people too.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ligne_bleue_separation_version_e-1988.jpg\" style=\"height:67px; width:400px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Recursos Humanos: Estamos aqu&iacute; para ayudar<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>He formado parte de la industria de Recursos Humanos por m&aacute;s de una d&eacute;cada. Durante la mayor&iacute;a de esos a&ntilde;os, los empleados han sido cautelosos conmigo. He sentido que los empleados evitan verme a los ojos, tambi&eacute;n he sentido que las salas de reuni&oacute;n llenas se vuelven silenciosas cuando entro e incluso gente que baja el tono de voz y susurra al verme pasar. Los empleados t&iacute;picamente no saben qu&eacute; pensar de Recursos Humanos; nos perciben como el director de la escuela. Somos los guardianes de la pol&iacute;tica, realizamos reuniones disciplinarias e incluso despedimos empleados. Esto puede sonar como el peor trabajo del mundo, pero de hecho &iexcl;hay mucho m&aacute;s de lo que hacemos que hace que valga la pena! Aunque no lo crea, estamos aqu&iacute; para ayudarles tanto a los empleados, como a la gerencia. Ustedes son nuestros clientes; &iquest;qu&eacute; podemos hacer por usted?<\/p>\n<p>Por favor no se sienta intimidado por nuestro Departamento de Recursos Humanos: queremos ayudarlo. Su &eacute;xito es parte de nuestro &eacute;xito, &iexcl;lo que a su vez hace que la empresa sea un &eacute;xito! Tal vez no est&eacute; al tanto de que siempre estamos aqu&iacute; para escucharlo y asesorarlo cuando tenga alg&uacute;n problema con otro empleado, su gerente o si simplemente quiere hablar de sus preocupaciones respecto a algo. &iquest;Sab&iacute;a que somos expertos en lo relacionado con su programa de beneficios? Tenemos probablemente la respuesta a cualquier pregunta sobre el programa de beneficios que tenga y, si no es as&iacute;, podemos encontrarla r&aacute;pidamente.
