Protecting health and safety is one of AGF Group’s core values, and we bring it to life through small daily actions. I recently visited our Costa Rica operations for a health-and-safety meeting, where I discussed our focus on this important issue. I chatted with employees on site and in the plant and reminded them that health and safety is just as important for us as it is for them, and even more so for their family and loved ones. At the San Jose University site, the superintendent gave a touching speech about the importance of working accident-free. Our project manager Mariano Camacho and Eugenio Cerdas were on hand to celebrate their good health and safety performance, after more than a month without an accident! Everyone agreed on the importance of health and safety, for themselves and above all for their families. I also spoke with employees at the plant, who had questions about personal protection equipment. The fact that people are asking questions demonstrates that a health and safety culture is taking root in the group. Lendy Rodrigez, our OHS advisor, joined me for these meetings. As a proud ambassador for health and safety, she visits all of our sites and the plant to talk to employees about health, safety and prevention. If you see her, you can ask how she is doing with her efforts to learn English, which she sometimes gets to practice with national OHS director Martin Logan. Like all members of the OHS team, Lendy is passionate about her work and loves chatting with people.<\/p>\n

Reunión de Salud y Seguridad en Costa Rica<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La salud y la seguridad son un valor importante en Grupo AGF. Este valor se comunica por medio de pequeños gestos cotidianos como, por ejemplo, durante las reuniones de salud y seguridad. Es exactamente para esta ocasión que durante una reunión de salud y seguridad hablé de nuestros valores de salud y seguridad. Conversé con los empleados de las obras y de la fábrica y les recordé que la salud y la seguridad también son importantes para nosotros, para ellos, pero incluso más importante para su familia y gente allegada. En la obra de la Universidad de San José, los empleados reaccionaron durante la reunión de salud y seguridad. El superintendente habló sobre la importancia de trabajar sin accidentes; sus palabras me conmovieron. Nuestro encargado de proyecto, Mariano Camacho, así como Eugenio Cerdas, estuvieron presentes para la ocasión. Todos estuvieron ahí para festejar un buen desempeño en salud y seguridad ¡después de haber completado un buen desempeño en salud y seguridad por más de un mes sin accidentes! Todos estuvieron de acuerdo con que la salud y la seguridad son importantes para ellos, pero todavía más para sus familias. También conversé con los empleados de la fábrica quienes me hicieron preguntas sobre el equipo de protección individual. El hecho de que la gente se cuestione sobre la salud y la seguridad demuestra que la cultura de salud y seguridad se desarrolla dentro del grupo. Durante las reuniones, estuve acompañado por nuestra asesora de salud y seguridad, Lendy Rodríguez. Ella es una orgullosa representante de la salud y seguridad y visita todas nuestras obras y nuestra fábrica para hablar sobre la salud y la seguridad y fomentar la prevención. Si la ve, irá a hablar con usted; pregúntele cómo va su aprendizaje del inglés y del hecho de que practica ocasionalmente con el Director Nacional de Salud y Seguridad, Martin Logan.
