The purpose of our trip was to meet the staff and the new General Manager, Jennifer Simmonds and David Loren, the new Director of Business Development (see picture above).
We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome by everyone and given a tour of the office and shop.

This office has seen some changes in the recent months and it was encouraging to see the positivity and energy from employees; in particular the two newest members, Jennifer and David.
Jennifer Simmonds started with AGF – C&T on July 3rd of this year and was appointed as the General Manager for Calgary and Fort Saskatchewan (just north east of Edmonton) offices. Jennifer came to us with many years of experience in fabrication and packaging of oil and gas processing equipment along with 7 years of construction experience. In conjunction with David Loren and Sam Costa, she hopes to grow the business and increase the AGF brand awareness in Western Canada. Also on her list of goals is to implement internal process changes to improve efficiency, quality and safety. Jennifer has been impressed with how welcoming employees have been to her and how they are willing to embrace her ideas. Jennifer is a true Calgarian; born and raised but does not fall into the stereotypical profile as she is quick to point out. She loves to travel and take care of her 4 dogs when she is not at work.

David Loren was appointed to the role of Director of Business Development on June 19th of this year. He supports Sam Costa in developing the Western Canada market. His goal is to make AGF C&T in becoming Western Canada’s leading fabricator and installer. David comes to us with many years of experience in the steel industry from owning and running his own businesses. His strong background in business development is truly an asset to us and will be essential to his role. In David’s down time his passion is roping, which I wasn’t entirely sure what that was until he showed me a video of him riding a horse and roping a calf! David even owns his own ranch! He loves to play up the cow boy perception around the office for fun.

Despite not knowing each other for long, Jennifer and David have developed a great working relationship. Though they are seemingly opposite they have the same goals in mind for the company and will work hard to accomplish them while enjoying each other’s witty banter and comradery.

Our trip was short as we were only there for a night; however Sam was a great reference of where to go and what to eat. He was a gracious host and will definitely be consulted again on things to do when I visit again. I am hoping next time to spend some more time to explore the surroundings and even make my way to the Rocky Mountains.

Thank you to all the AGF – C&T employees in the Calgary office who were so welcoming to us; especially to Sam, Jennifer and David. I know all three of us are eager to visit again!

[231

post-44238","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-team-members
["GET
