But what are they then?
This month, we are going to focus on the notion of “poka-yoke.”

What is poka-yoke?

Poka-yoke is a Japanese term that means “mistake proofing.” Its purpose is to eliminate anomalies in products or processes, prevent and correct human errors, or draw attention to them when they do occur.

What are they used for?
Poka-yokes can be integrated at any point in a process to prevent mistakes and create visual indicators that contribute to the process.
A common example is the possibility for a computer program to prevent the user from issuing a command if any essential information is missing.
In short, poka-yokes prevent production errors inherent in processes. The benefits are improvements to quality, productivity, cycle times, production timeframes, incidences of anomalies and costs.

Who are they aimed at?

Anyone who uses one of your processes can use a poka-yoke. It must be created by the project team as part of process development.

For the past few months, our new innovation department has been making the rounds within […]

[217,221

post-44306","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-general-interest","category-projects
["GET
