With this new robotics-enabled space, it will be able to serve the Ontario and Quebec markets.

AGF has been hired to work on this mega-project, to produce the foundations and reinforced concrete floors that will support the enormous building structure (up to 120 feet in height).

One of the specific features of the project is that the structure that will be used for product warehousing will also serve as the building’s structure.
As seen in the above photo, the foundations and slabs will be installed on close to 6,500 piles driven into the rock substrate.

The means that measure up to the effort

Christian Roy is the detailer for this project, and Francis Larocque is general site superintendent. Currently, there are about 15 Acier AGF employees working in Beauharnois, but this number will rise to 50 in the months ahead to step up the pace of work and meet very tight deadlines. The concrete slab for the warehouse building will weigh close to 2,500 tonnes and must be completed before winter.

The contract awarded to AGF currently covers a total of 9,000 T of rebar. This means about 350 to 400 T will have to be delivered every week to the site at peak periods.

In general, for projects of this scope, pre-assembly is often a attractive choice to maximize time available for installation and thereby comply with very tight deadlines, but in this case, while pre-assembly could be done in parallel on the site, almost all of the installation must be done “on the spot.”

We wish great success to all those working in this project, which is slated for completion by the end of 2019.

With Christian Roy’s contribution In recent weeks, the town of Beauharnois has seen new construction […]

[221

post-44320","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-projects
["GET
