It was an emotional moment when we celebrated Michel Houle’s retirement on November 9. An operator at the Acier AGF plant in Longueuil, he was hired by AGF as a permanent employee in 1983.<\/p>\n

Interesting fact: Michel is one of our last active employees to work with our company’s founder. In the 1970s, he knew Laurent Gendron—Serge Gendron’s father—while working for Acier Gendron Ltée. Back then, Michel had the opportunity to be involved in building the Olympic Stadium, which Acier Gendron Ltée was proud to contribute to. Jean Plourde, plant manager at the time, called him after the post-Olympic recession to ask him to help out for three months, which turned into … 34 years!<\/p>\n

Throughout his long career, he was involved in every aspect of manufacturing rebar: receiving materials, cutting, bending, handling and even delivery.<\/p>\n

Even after an unfortunate work accident resulting in a serious injury to his hand, Michel kept going and came back stronger than ever. We applaud his unwavering dedication to the company throughout his many years of service.<\/p>\n

The entire team at AGF in Longueuil wishes Michel a happy, well-deserved retirement. <\/p>\n

¡Feliz jubilación Michel!<\/h2>\n

Es con gran emoción que celebramos la jubilación de Michel Houle el 9 de noviembre pasado. Michel era operador en la fábrica Acier AGF en Longueuil. Fue contratado como empleado permanente en AGF en 1983.<\/p>\n

Un hecho destacado es que Michel es uno de nuestros últimos empleados activos que trabajaron con el fundador de nuestra empresa. En efecto, en la década de los setenta, conoció a Laurent Gendron, el padre de Serge Gendron, cuando trabajaba para Acier Gendron Ltée. En esa época, Michel tuvo la oportunidad de participar en la construcción del Estadio Olímpico en el que Acier Gendron Ltée orgullosamente contribuyó. El director de fábrica de la época, el Sr. Jean Plourde, le llamó después de la recesión post-olímpica para pedirle ayuda por un periodo de tres meses, ¡el cual finalmente fue de… 34 años!<\/p>\n

En el transcurso de su larga carrera, tuvo que ver con todas las facetas de la fabricación de acero de refuerzo: recepción de material, corte, doblado, manipulación, e incluso la entrega.<\/p>\n

A pesar de un desafortunado accidente de trabajo en el que se lesionó gravemente una mano, Michel continuó y regresó con nosotros todavía más fuerte. Podemos celebrar su tenaz dedicación con la empresa durante todos estos años de servicio.<\/p>\n
