This time of year, often synonymous with excess, presents a few challenges if we are to maintain our healthy habits.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage you to take full advantage of this special family time, while maintaining a healthy lifestyle by following these tips:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Slow down.<\/strong>&nbsp;When you&rsquo;re shopping and preparing for celebrations, allow more time, plan for more guests, enjoy the moment and take it easy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adjust your expectations.&nbsp;<\/strong>We all want every Christmas to be perfect, but in reality, there&rsquo;s no such thing as perfection. Remember the real reasons for celebrating and don&rsquo;t sweat the small stuff. Live in the moment and appreciate the experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Respect your budget.&nbsp;<\/strong>Financial hardship is a common stressor. Respect your budget this year, and give more of your time to your friends and family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Take time for yourself.&nbsp;<\/strong>During the festive season, we try to orchestrate the perfect Christmas for our loved ones, but we forget the importance of taking care of ourselves. If you&rsquo;re overtired, you&rsquo;ll end up exhausted and your stress level will go up. Between shopping, cooking and parties, try to take time every day just for yourself so you can relax and put your mind at ease Even a few minutes will recharge your batteries. Take a walk in the evening, listen to soothing music, watch a film you&rsquo;ve wanted to see for a long time, immerse yourself in a good book, treat yourself to a massage, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maintain a regular sleep schedule whenever possible.<\/strong>&nbsp;During the Holidays, it can be hard to maintain a regular sleep schedule. But it&rsquo;s important to try to stick to it as much as possible. Going to bed and getting up at the same time every day will keep your sleep regular and give you more energy. You&rsquo;ll be refreshed and ready for the Holidays. And it will be easier to get back into your routine once the Holidays are over.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stay active.&nbsp;<\/strong> Don&rsquo;t let your fitness program take a back seat to Holiday festivities. It&rsquo;s even more important to stay active at this time of year. Turn your social outings into physical activities! Go tobogganing, dancing, skating or bundle up for a nice long walk. In addition to being great for your health, exercise can help you relax and stop focusing on your worries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Limit alcoholic beverages. <\/strong>The Holiday Season offers numerous opportunities to raise a glass with family and friends. But bear in mind that drinking to excess, even occasionally, can wreak havoc on the body. Women should limit drinks to two a day, and men to three. Respete su presupuesto este a&ntilde;o y mejor ofr&eacute;zcales su tiempo a sus seres queridos y amigos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tome tiempo para usted. <\/strong>Durante la &eacute;poca de fiestas navide&ntilde;as, nos esforzamos para crear una Navidad perfecta para nuestros seres queridos y olvidamos que es muy importante cuidarse a uno mismo. Si est&aacute; demasiado cansado, corre el riesgo de agotarse y de incrementar su nivel de estr&eacute;s.&nbsp;Entre las compras, la comida y las reuniones, trate de reservar tiempo para usted todos los d&iacute;as solamente para relajarse y despejar su mente. D&eacute; un paseo en la noche, escuche m&uacute;sica relajante, rente la pel&iacute;cula que quer&iacute;a ver desde hace mucho tiempo, sum&eacute;rjase en un buen libro, ofr&eacute;zcase un masaje, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mantenga un horario de sue&ntilde;o regular cuando sea posible.<\/strong> Durante la &eacute;poca de fiestas navide&ntilde;as, puede ser dif&iacute;cil mantener un horario de sue&ntilde;o regular.
