Who is Trent Guess?<\/h3>\n

I got to know Trent while visiting worksites in Calgary. He is a supervisor for AGF C&T Alberta. <\/p>\n

Trent has extensive experience, having worked for many years in the industry. For the past two years, he has been supervisor on the Arris project in downtown Calgary. When completed, this project will comprise two towers: one with 44 storeys and another with 25. <\/p>\n

I am very familiar with this site, since I have been there many times. Receiving and storing the rebar is a challenge there because there is little available space. 
\nThe health and safety requirements are also very stringent. Our customers expect us to deliver a good health and safety performance along with good productivity, in terms of hours per tonne per day and per week. This is precisely the challenge that Trent has met by masterfully managing a team of 10 to 12 steelworkers. <\/p>\n

In two years, we have been able to maintain this performance without a single lost-time accident!
\nOne thing I noticed on my most recent visit: there were two women working as part of our on-site installation team, something we don’t often see in our industry. <\/p>\n

Great performances across the board<\/h3>\n

In the past 10 months, Trent’s team has installed 2,400 tonnes of steel in 15,000 hours worked. His average is 240 tonnes per month, for an average of 1,500 hours. <\/p>\n

There have been only three minor health and safety incidents so far. The last time I visited the site, everyone was wearing their personal safety equipment, risk analyses for jobs had been done, and a health and safety meeting had been held! <\/p>\n

The customer was happy to see us and told me he was very satisfied with our work.  <\/p>\n

Congratulations to Trent and his team of steelworkers, and to our health and safety advisor, Chris MacDonald.

¿Quién es Trent Guess?<\/h2>\n

Conocí a Trent durante una de mis visitas de obra en Calgary. Trent es supervisor de AGF C&T Alberta.<\/p>\n

Es una persona con experiencia y trabaja en la industria desde hace muchos años. Desde hace dos años es supervisor del proyecto Arris en el centro de la ciudad de Calgary. Una vez que esté terminado, el proyecto tendrá una torre de 44 pisos y otra de 25.<\/p>\n

Conozco bien esta obra ya que estuve ahí en varias ocasiones. La recepción y el almacenamiento de acero de refuerzo es un desafío ya que no hay mucho espacio disponible.<\/p>\n

Las exigencias de salud y seguridad ahí también son muy elevadas. Nuestros clientes exigen de nuestra parte a la vez un buen desempeño en salud y seguridad y una buena productividad en términos de toneladas por hora por día y por semana. Es exactamente el desafío que Trent pudo superar al dirigir perfectamente a un equipo de aproximadamente 10 a 12 obreros.<\/p>\n

Es así que, en dos años, ¡pudimos mantener este desempeño sin ningún accidente de trabajo con pérdida de tiempo!<\/p>\n

Hice un pequeña observación durante mi última visita: la presencia de dos mujeres trabajando en nuestro equipo de instalación en la obra. Esto es un poco raro en nuestro sector de actividad.<\/p>\n

Excelente desempeño en todos los niveles<\/h3>\n

Durante los últimos diez meses, el equipo de Trent instaló 2400 t de acero en 15 000 horas de trabajo. Su promedio es de 240 t por mes en un promedio de 1500 horas.<\/p>\n

Notamos solamente tres eventos menores en salud y seguridad hasta ahora. Durante mi última visita, todos portaban su equipo de protección individual, se realizaron los análisis de riesgo antes de los trabajos ¡y ya se había realizado una reunión de salud y seguridad!<\/p>\n

El cliente estaba contento de vernos y me mencionó que estaba satisfecho de nuestro trabajo.<\/p>\n

Felicidades a Trent y al equipo de obreros y también a nuestro asesor de salud y seguridad Chris MacDonald.<\/p>\n
