In March, the first aid attendants at AGF Group Inc.’s head office completed a training course. First aid refresher courses must generally be done every three years, according to the Red Cross.<\/p>\n

On the job and at home<\/h3>\n

First aid is not only important for employers but for everyone, since proper first aid training can be a godsend in the event of an accident.<\/p>\n

It’s just as important in our personal and family life. No one is immune to a situation that could impact the health of a family member or neighbour. <\/p>\n

It has been amply demonstrated that first aid training can save lives while waiting for first responders to arrive.<\/p>\n

Required by law in the workplace<\/h3>\n

It is a regulatory requirement to have one trained first aid attendant present per shift. You should find the names of your first aiders posted on the health and safety noticeboard. <\/p>\n

They should also be named in your local emergency plan. <\/p>\n

I recommend that you ask your immediate supervisor or a member of the health and safety team where to find your emergency plan, who your first aiders are and where the first aid kits are kept.<\/p>\n

Our first aiders in the Longueuil office<\/h3>\n

I would like to congratulate Pierre Colangelo, Charles Tremblay and Géraldine Raedemaeker for completing their first aid training in May. They are now the first aid reps for the AGF Group Inc. head office. While their role might appear small, it’s very important for us. I would like to express my appreciation to our proud first aiders!<\/p>\n

Gracias a todos nuestros socorristas<\/h2>\n

El pasado mes de marzo en la sede social de Grupo AGF Inc, nuestros socorristas se pusieron al día. En efecto, de acuerdo con la Cruz Roja, la capacitación de socorrismo debe actualizarse generalmente cada tres años.<\/p>\n

En el trabajo como en casa<\/h3>\n

Es un aspecto importante para los empleadores pero también para todos ya que una buena formación en socorrismo puede ayudar enormemente durante un desafortunado accidente.<\/p>\n

También es importante en nuestra vida personal y familiar. Nadie está a salvo de una situación que tenga un impacto en la salud de un miembro de la familia o de un vecino.<\/p>\n

Se ha probado muchas veces que una capacitación en socorrismo puede salvar vidas en lo que llegan los servicios de emergencia.<\/p>\n

Exigencia en el medio de trabajo<\/h3>\n

Es una exigencia reglamentaria contar con un socorrista capacitado durante cada turno de trabajo. Debe buscar el nombre de sus socorristas en el documento previsto para este efecto en el tablero de anuncios de salud y seguridad.<\/p>\n

El nombre de los socorristas debe también ser anunciado en su plan de emergencias local.<\/p>\n

Le recomiendo preguntarle a su superior inmediato o a un miembro del equipo de Salud y Seguridad en dónde se encuentra el plan de emergencias, quiénes son los socorristas y en dónde se sitúan los botiquines de primeros auxilios.<\/p>\n

Quisiera felicitar a Pierre Colangelo, a Charles Tremblay y a Géraldine Raedemaeker por haber completado la capacitación de socorrismo durante el pasado mes de marzo. Desde ahora son orgullosos representantes de socorrismo en el medio de trabajo de la sede social de Grupo AGF Inc. Su papel puede parecer mínimo, pero es muy importante para nosotros.
