Whether you are working in an office, a factory, or on construction sites, are you familiar with the risks involved? What if one of your colleagues were the victim of an accident, can you predict how you would react?<\/p>\n<p>We are all at risk in one way or another:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tripping on a stair because we are too busy answering an email or talking on our cellphones;<\/li>\n<li>Failing to use a padlock in a risk area;<\/li>\n<li>Omitting to wear our PPE where it is prescribed, etc.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recently, a young worker caught his hand in a bender. He had to be hospitalized and lost three fingers as a result of this accident. To this day, his colleagues are still devastated by the event. They keep on asking how this situation could have been prevented, considering no accidents had been reported for a long time.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that it is your right&mdash;and your duty&mdash;to declare any situation that could put your safety at risk. Become an agent of change!<\/p>\n<p>You can also take action on your work environment by ensuring your work space is well kept, wearing your personal protective equipment, respecting the safety rules, and declaring every incident. It is difficult to say whether one of these actions could have helped prevent this accident, but I believe they could have had a positive influence on the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Do not hesitate to notify your superior if you need training or if you believe your current work situation is dangerous. Act on the situation. Think about the risks before starting your day and make sure to keep an eye on your environment.<\/p>\n<p>Ask for help when needed and intervene if you believe one of your colleagues is exposed to danger. Each of these actions will help prevent other accidents. As I reflect on the situation, I ask myself what we could have done differently to make sure our colleague returned home uninjured.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ligne_bleue_separation_version_e-2184.jpg\" style=\"height:67px; width:400px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<h2>La seguridad en primer plano<\/h2>\n<p>&iquest;Alguna vez ha reflexionado sobre el hecho de que en su empleo podr&iacute;a producirse un accidente de trabajo? Ya sea en las oficinas, f&aacute;bricas u obras, &iquest;conoce los riesgos a los que se enfrenta? Y si este accidente le sucediera a alguno de sus colegas, &iquest;c&oacute;mo reaccionar&iacute;a?<\/p>\n<p>Todos estamos expuestos a un riesgo de una manera u otra, por ejemplo:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>no ver un escal&oacute;n porque estamos muy ocupados respondiendo un correo electr&oacute;nico en nuestro celular;<\/li>\n<li>no cerrar con candado una zona de riesgo;<\/li>\n<li>no ponerse el EPI en las zonas requeridas, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recientemente, la mano de un joven trabajador se qued&oacute; atrapada en una m&aacute;quina dobladora y desafortunadamente perdi&oacute; tres dedos. El hospital se hizo cargo del trabajador y sus colegas se quedaron devastados por el acontecimiento. &iquest;C&oacute;mo pudo haberse prevenido este accidente? Sus colegas, quienes no hab&iacute;an tenido un accidente de trabajo desde hace mucho tiempo, se preguntan c&oacute;mo reaccionar en su ambiente de trabajo para que esto no se reproduzca.<\/p>\n<p>Tenga en consideraci&oacute;n que tiene el derecho, e incluso el deber, de declarar cualquier situaci&oacute;n que parezca peligrosa. &iexcl;Act&uacute;e como agente de cambio!<\/p>\n<p>Tambi&eacute;n puede tomar acci&oacute;n respecto a su ambiente de trabajo asegur&aacute;ndose de mantener bien el lugar, poni&eacute;ndose su equipo de protecci&oacute;n individual (EPI), respetando las normas de seguridad y declarando los acontecimientos. Por el momento es dif&iacute;cil decir si estos elementos hubiesen podido impedir el accidente. Sin embargo, creo que hubiesen tenido una gran influencia positiva sobre la situaci&oacute;n.<\/p>\n<p>Si necesita capacitaci&oacute;n, inf&oacute;rmenos; si su situaci&oacute;n de trabajo es peligrosa, d&iacute;gaselo a su contramaestre y act&uacute;e respecto a la situaci&oacute;n. Piense en los riesgos antes de empezar a trabajar y aseg&uacute;rese de controlarlos.<\/p>\n<p>Pida ayuda si lo necesita, intervenga si un colega se expone a peligro. Todas estas cosas ayudar&aacute;n a evitar que otros accidentes se produzcan.<\/p>\n<p>Tengo una reflexi&oacute;n para este trabajador accidentado: &iquest;qu&eacute; pudimos haber hecho para asegurarnos que regresara a casa en el mismo estado en el que lleg&oacute; en la ma&ntilde;ana, es decir, completamente ileso?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever thought about your risk of work-related injuries?
