The 5th edition of the Health and Safety Week took place from May 6–10.<\/p>\n

This week is a means for companies to reaffirm the importance of health and safety issues. At AGF, we are keen to develop the health and safety culture, which is why all of AGF Group’s steel sector business units held events that engaged both employees and management, and promoted the importance of a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n

This year, I wanted to introduce an emotional aspect to the importance of health & safety into our various business units, by presenting a video produced by film students who chose to explore this subject. Moreover, these students won the first CNESST prize for their work. I wanted people to realize that safety is not only important for employees, but especially for their families.<\/p>\n

The many activities that were organized included stretching sessions, conferences on nutrition, yoga, and even health (including one on cannabis). Several business units took the opportunity to update their emergency plan and perform evacuation drills.<\/p>\n

Fact sheets were also sent to all employees and posted on the screens available in the shops and cafeterias of some of our business units. Some of them even used these sheets to feed their “Safety Moment” in the morning. I am also very pleased that a security workshop conference was held in Kitchener. The latter was hosted by Rob Ellis of My Safe Work, and brought together employees and clients.<\/p>\n

Finally, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the participation rate reached a high of 100%. This is certainly a sign that the health and safety culture is evolving well within the Group. I wish to thank everyone who helped make this week a real success!<\/p>\n
