As a rebar passionate, I try to stay connected with the corporate society and inspire the next generation at the start of their career. I believe this is where social involvement and business meet with a positive impact to our corporate image.<\/p>\n

With this in mind, I signed up for the civil program advisory committee at Seneca collage. Through this connection, I had the honour of being invited as a speaker in their annual event called “Seneca National Engineering Month”<\/p>\n

In this event few other speakers presented for students and faculty, we all shared the same goal: to inspire the students and provide them with information and hope.<\/p>\n

My presentation was about the “Career Path in the Rebar Industry”. I did it in collaboration with RSIC “Reinforcing Steel Institute of Canada”.<\/p>\n

My speech was about 20 minutes in length. I had explained various careers in the rebar industry such as Estimating, Sales, Detailing, Project management, Production, Inventory, Quality Assurance, site personnel and so on. <\/p>\n

I provided a brief of required qualifications, challenges and rewards for each position. <\/p>\n

Now I can say inspiring the new generation is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career!<\/p>\n

Apasionada del acero de refuerzo<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Como apasionada del acero de refuerzo, intento implicarme en la sociedad e inspirar a las generaciones jóvenes que inician su carrera. Pienso que es ahí que las empresas pueden tener un impacto positivo en cuanto a la implicación social.<\/p>\n

Con esto en mente me inscribí al comité consultivo del programa civil del Colegio Seneca. Gracias a esta implicación, tuve el honor de ser invitada como conferencista al evento anual titulado “El mes nacional de ingeniería de Seneca”.<\/p>\n

Durante este evento, varios oradores compartimos el mismo objetivo: inspirar a los estudiantes y transmitirles informaciones para motivarlos en su recorrido profesional.<\/p>\n

Mi presentación fue sobre “el trayecto profesional en la industria de acero de refuerzo”. Lo hice en colaboración con el Instituto de Acero de Refuerzo de Canadá (RSIC, por sus siglas en inglés).<\/p>\n

Mi presentación duró aproximadamente veinte minutos. Expliqué las diferentes carreras posibles en la industria del acero de refuerzo como la estimación, las ventas, la proyección, la gestión de proyectos, la producción, el abastecimiento, el control de calidad, el personal en la obra, etc. Les compartí un resumen de las cualificaciones requeridas, los desafíos y los beneficios de cada puesto.<\/p>\n
