{"id":46282,"date":"2019-10-10T15:21:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T19:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/uncategorized\/major-projects"},"modified":"2024-05-07T15:37:42","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T19:37:42","slug":"major-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/general-interest\/major-projects","title":{"rendered":"Major projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Every month, readers of The Network can send me their questions about our history, projects, social commitment, challenges or any other topic related to AGF Group.<br \/>\nYou can send your questions to <a href=\"mailto:communication@agfgroup.com\">communication@agfgroup.com<\/a>.<br \/>\nThis month, I have selected a question from Barbara Serieys (Junior Communications Advisor&ndash;AGF Group Inc.).<\/p>\n<p><strong>&ldquo;Which three major projects have contributed to shaping AGF Group&rsquo;s reputation?&rdquo;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the course of its history, AGF has played a key role in many landmark projects in the history of rebar. Choosing only three is a difficult task, since each project has contributed to developing AGF Group and making it what it is today.&nbsp;<br \/>\nThat said, here are my three choices: &nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Montreal&rsquo;s Olympic facilities in 1976:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Acier AGF worked on the construction of several of the venues, including the Olympic stadium and the swimming pool, which called for 35,000 tonnes of steel. It was an outstanding opportunity to take part in a project of international importance.<br \/>\nAre you familiar with the Olympic motto &ldquo;Citius, Altius, Fortius&rdquo;? &ldquo;Faster, Higher, Stronger&rdquo; could also describe our vision.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hibernia Oil Platform (1992-1996)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Located off the coast of Newfoundland, Hibernia was the first project where AGF established its credentials in offshore oil platform construction. A total of 105,000 tonnes of steel over four years was needed to complete this project. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Samuel De Champlain Bridge (2016-2019)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A massive project requiring more than 16,000 tonnes of rebar, the Samuel De Champlain bridge was a substantial challenge that the entire AGF team carried off brilliantly. With a team of 75 steel workers, 20 workers in the fabrication plant, and 31 engineers and technicians involved in the project, AGF once again demonstrated its very high level of professionalism and exceptional expertise.<\/p>\n<p>I will include other noteworthy projects to complete my answer: <strong>Highway 30 <\/strong>(43,000 tonnes of steel from 2009 to 2012) and <strong>the Hebron offshore oil platform <\/strong>(53,200 tonnes of steel from 2012 to 2016).<\/p>\n<p>There&rsquo;s no doubt that in the years ahead, other major projects will shape our history!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ligne_bleue_separation_version_e-2239.jpg\" style=\"height:67px; width:400px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROYECTOS IMPORTANTES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cada mes, los lectores de la Red pueden enviarme sus preguntas sobre la historia, los proyectos, la implicaci&oacute;n social, los desaf&iacute;os o cualquier otro tema relacionado con Grupo AGF.<br \/>\n&iexcl;No dude enviarme sus preguntas a: communication@agfgroup.com!<\/p>\n<p>Este mes, seleccion&eacute; la pregunta de <strong>Barbara Serieys <\/strong>(Asesora Principiante, Comunicaciones Grupo AGF Inc.).<\/p>\n<p><strong>&ldquo;&iquest;Cu&aacute;les son los tres proyectos importantes que contribuyeron a la notoriedad de Grupo AGF?&rdquo;<\/strong><br \/>\nA lo largo de su historia, AGF se ha distinguido en varios proyectos hist&oacute;ricos de acero de refuerzo. Limitarme a tres es un ejercicio dif&iacute;cil, ya que cada proyecto ha hecho crecer a Grupo AGF y contribuyen a hacer del grupo lo que es hoy.<br \/>\nSin embargo, a continuaci&oacute;n, presento mis tres elecciones:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Las instalaciones ol&iacute;mpicas de Montreal (1976):<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Acier AGF contribuy&oacute; a la construcci&oacute;n de varias instalaciones, entre ellas, el estadio ol&iacute;mpico y la piscina ol&iacute;mpica, para los cuales se necesitaron 35 000 t de acero. Fue una verdadera oportunidad participar en este proyecto de envergadura internacional.<br \/>\n&iquest;Conoce el lema de los Juegos Ol&iacute;mpicos &ldquo;M&aacute;s alto, m&aacute;s r&aacute;pido, m&aacute;s fuerte&rdquo;? Tambi&eacute;n es un poco nuestra visi&oacute;n.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>La Plataforma petrolera Hibernia (1992-1996)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Frente a Terranova, Hibernia es el primer proyecto que le permiti&oacute; a AGF adquirir su legitimidad en cuanto a la elaboraci&oacute;n de plataformas petroleras. Para la realizaci&oacute;n de esta construcci&oacute;n se necesitaron 105 000 t de acero, en un periodo de cuatro a&ntilde;os.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>El Puente Samuel-De Champlain (2016-2019)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Un proyecto de envergadura para el que se necesitaron m&aacute;s de 16 000 t de acero de refuerzo.
