{"id":46358,"date":"2019-11-15T14:24:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-15T19:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/uncategorized\/site-c-hydro-dam"},"modified":"2024-05-07T15:38:05","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T19:38:05","slug":"site-c-hydro-dam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/projects\/site-c-hydro-dam","title":{"rendered":"Site C Hydro Dam"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Access Group, Inc., (AAG) has been selected by subcontractor Groupe Lar to provide an access solution to aid in the construction of the Site C Hydro Dam in Bristish Columbia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>AAG&rsquo;s scaffolding division Winsafe will custom-build an engineered, suspended platform to operate within the penstocks of the new installation.<\/p>\n<p>The large steel penstock pipes, each measuring 10 m in diameter and approximately 85 m in length, will regulate the flow of the dam&rsquo;s water. During the construction phase, the temporary Winsafe system will provide critical and safe access within the penstocks. One of the Winsafe platform&rsquo;s unique features is that it can travel on an incline up to 45 degrees while adjusting to the curved geometric travel of the penstocks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;Safety is extremely important for this project,&rdquo; said Stephan Loiselle, Business Development Manager, AAG.&nbsp;&ldquo;Groupe LAR needed a way to have quick and safe access within the penstocks, but even more importantly, to have quick access out in case of an emergency. We are able to engineer a solution that makes this possible.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>We are excited to be working on the Site C megaproject. Our recent hydro dam experience with Canmec at Muskrat Falls has given us substantial expertise for developing customized solutions for unique and challenging access applications.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;AAG will deliver the suspended engineered platform by the end of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>There are three hydro dams under construction in Canada currently, with Site C being the largest. According to the Site C website, Site C will be a source of clean and renewable electricity for more than 100 years, providing enough energy to power the equivalent of about 450,000 homes per year in B.C. Construction of Site C started in<br \/>\nsummer 2015 and will be completed in 2024. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sitecproject.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read more about Site C here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ligne_bleue_separation_version_e-2244.jpg\" style=\"height:67px; width:400px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<h2><strong>PRESA HIDROELECTRICA DEL SITIO C<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Grupo AGF Acceso (GAA) fue seleccionado por el subcontratista Grupo LAR para la concepci&oacute;n y el suministro de una plataforma de acceso destinada al megaproyecto hidroel&eacute;ctrico Sitio C, situado en Colombia Brit&aacute;nica.<\/p>\n<p>Winsafe, una divisi&oacute;n de Grupo AGF Acceso, contruir&aacute; una plataforma suspendida para facilitar el trabajo en los conductos hidr&aacute;ulicas de esta nueva instalaci&oacute;n.<\/p>\n<p>Estos grandes conductos de acero, de un di&aacute;metro de 10&nbsp;m cada uno y de una longitud de aproximadamente 85&nbsp;m, regular&aacute;n el flujo del agua de la presa. Durante la fase de construcci&oacute;n de la presa, la soluci&oacute;n de acceso temporal de Winsafe proporcionar&aacute; un acceso seguro al interior de los conductos. Una de las principales caracter&iacute;sticas de la plataforma es que podr&aacute; inclinarse hasta 45&nbsp;grados para adaptarse a la inclinaci&oacute;n de los conductos.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;La seguridad es extremadamente importante para este proyecto&rdquo;, declar&oacute; Stephan Loiselle, Director de Desarrollo de Negocios, GAA. &ldquo;El Grupo LAR necesitaba tener un acceso r&aacute;pido y seguro al interior de los conductos forzados; sin embargo, lo m&aacute;s importante es tener un acceso r&aacute;pido en caso de urgencia.
