It will have 26 stations and 67 km of track across Greater Montreal (compared to 71 km for the existing metro network).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>REM Stations<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AGF Group is involved in this project and is in charge of supplying and installing rebar for:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 18 REM stations;<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 bus terminals;<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 maintenance buildings.<\/p>\n<p>This major project represents more than 7,000 MT of steel for the entire infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Our teams began working on this project in January 2020, which will be completed in 2022.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Other REM-related projects (6,000 MT)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AGF Group is also involved in projects associated with the REM, which began in June 2018, notably the construction of:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; the maintenance centre in St-Eustache, which has now been completed (285 TM);<br \/>\n&#8211; the elevated structure from the Champlain Bridge to the Lachine Canal (4500 MT);<br \/>\n&#8211; the Bois Franc station (350 MT);<br \/>\n&#8211; the maintenance centre in Brossard (800 MT);<br \/>\n&#8211; the launch ramp for the tunnel boring machine <strong>&#8211;<\/strong>&nbsp;Technoparc station (103 MT)<\/p>\n<table align=\"center\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"1\" cellspacing=\"1\" style=\"width:500px\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/05_Canal_Lachine-Copy-1-7.jpg\" style=\"height:225px; width:400px\" title=\"\"><\/td>\n<td>\n<p style=\"font-size:14px; font-style:italic\">Aerial structure over the Lachine Canal&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size:14px; font-style:italic\">source: rem.info<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Closeup of the launch ramp for the tunnel boring machine, known as &ldquo;Alice&rdquo; &ndash; St-Laurent Technoparc<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This unique job has just been brilliantly executed by AGF&rsquo;s teams.<\/p>\n<p>It is remarkable for its technical complexity, the number of bends and angles in the different rebars, its limited access conditions, the very short timeline, as well as the huge constraints faced when lowering the steel into the tunnel boring machine&#8217;s borehole.<\/p>\n<p>The field assembly teams as well as those in the plant and office had the same watchwords: quality, efficiency and concern for avoiding waste. Of the 103 MT produced, AGF did not send back any steel nor did it have to re-bend any parts. The seasoned site crew was able to adjust to the constraints of the site, aided in particular by the work done upstream by the office, which produced highly detailed plans, and the plant, which supplied steel that was bent with consummate skill.<\/p>\n<p>The field team did a perfect job, installing 31 tonnes of tie&nbsp;wire,&nbsp;a task that called for a great deal of patience and diligence: one worker had to be on the inside, lying on the lower rows of reinforcement to install the &ldquo;L&rdquo; bar and the other was on top of the upper bars to install the &ldquo;J&rdquo; bars. The person inside on the raft would then attach the two together.<\/p>\n<p>The accompanying photos attest to the work that was done. Es &uacute;nica por su complejidad t&eacute;cnica, por el n&uacute;mero de pliegues y de &aacute;ngulos diversos en las diferentes barras de refuerzo, por las condiciones de acceso limitadas, por tener un plazo muy corto, y tambi&eacute;n por la inmensa restricci&oacute;n para descender el acero al pozo de perforaci&oacute;n de la tuneladora.<\/p>\n<p>Los equipos de ensamblaje en la obra, como los de la f&aacute;brica y de las oficinas, demostraron las mismas cualidades en orden: calidad, eficacia y preocupaci&oacute;n por el desperdicio. De las 103 toneladas de productos, AGF no devolvi&oacute; ninguna cantidad de acero y no realiz&oacute; ning&uacute;n plegado. El equipo experimentado en la obra pudo ajustarse a pesar de las restricciones del sitio. Esto fue principalmente gracias al trabajo realizado, con anticipaci&oacute;n, por las oficinas, en las que se produjeron planes bien detallados, y la f&aacute;brica, quien suministr&oacute; acero plegado proveniente de manos expertas.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo de trabajadores de acero realiz&oacute; un trabajo perfecto durante la instalaci&oacute;n de 31&nbsp;t de pasadores. Necesarios para unir las barras de acero, su instalaci&oacute;n requiri&oacute; una gran paciencia y minuciosidad de parte de los trabajadores: uno ten&iacute;a que estar en el interior, tendido sobre las hileras de acero de refuerzo inferiores para instalar la barra en &ldquo;L&rdquo;, y el otro sobre las barras superiores para instalar las barras en &ldquo;J&rdquo;.
