This month, our Kitchener division received COR™ certification (Certificate of Recognition), the result of numerous health and safety efforts over several months.<\/p>\n

What is COR?<\/h3>\n

COR, which is granted following an audit, guarantees that the company has implemented an effective framework for managing risks, establishing controls and minimizing the incidence of injuries and illness among its workers.<\/p>\n

The verification criteria used by COR are recognized by industries throughout Canada and show that a company has an active health and safety management system.<\/p>\n

It should be borne in mind that COR certification is often required for public- and private-sector construction contracts in Ontario and is sometimes a prerequisite for responding to a call for tenders. It assures buyers in the construction sector that the company is applying optimal safety practices on the worksite.<\/p>\n

COR certification is valid for three years, starting on the certification date (provided the employer conducts successful internal maintenance audits in the second and third years) (source https:\/\/www.ihsa.ca)<\/p>\n

\nAnd what’s about AGF ?<\/h3>\n

Currently, three of our divisions are COR-certified:<\/p>\n

   – AGF- Rebar Inc.- Kitchener , in January 2020
\n   – AGF- Reinforcing Inc.- Rocky View., in November 2019
\n  –  AGF Steel NL Inc., in December 2019.<\/p>\n

The COR process is currently under way at our Ottawa and Scarborough divisions.<\/p>\n

Obtaining COR certification is a corporate aspiration that speaks to our commitment to health and safety, a fundamental value at AGF Group.<\/p>\n

Certificación COR<\/h2>\n

Este mes, nuestra división de Kitchener adquirió la certificación COR (Certificate Of Recognition). Es el
\nresultado de varios esfuerzos realizados desde hace varios meses en lo referente a salud y seguridad.<\/p>\n

¿Qué es COR?<\/h3>\n

La certificación COR, la cual se obtiene después de una auditoría, garantiza que la empresa ha
\nimplantado un marco eficaz para administrar los riesgos, establecer inspecciones y minimizar la
\nincidencia de heridas y de enfermedades de sus trabajadores.
\nLos criterios de verificación utilizados por la certificación COR son reconocidos por las industrias a través
\nde todo Canadá y demuestran que la empresa dispone de un sistema de gestión activa de salud y
\nseguridad.
\nEs necesario saber que la certificación COR con frecuencia es requerida para los contratos relativos a los
\nproyectos de construcción de los sectores público y privado en Ontario, y es algunas veces necesaria
\npara poder responder a las licitaciones públicas. De esta manera, se les garantiza a los compradores del
\nsector de la construcción que la empresa aplica prácticas seguras óptimas en el lugar de trabajo.
\nLa certificación COR™ es válida tres años a partir de la fecha de certificación (siempre y cuando el
\nempleador efectúe y apruebe las auditorías internas de mantenimiento durante el segundo y tercer año).

Actualmente, tres de nuestras divisiones poseen la certificación COR:

\n– AGF Reinforcing – Inc, obtenida en noviembre de 2019
\n– AGF Steel NL Inc, obtenida en diciembre de 2019
\nEl proceso de la certificación COR está actualmente en curso en nuestras divisiones de Ottawa y de
\nScarborough.<\/p>\n

Obtener la certificación es una de las visiones de la empresa y demuestra nuestra implicación en la salud
