In June 2018, AGF Tecnik opened its first office in Thanjavur, India, with the initial aim of assisting our Canadian divisions with estimating and detailing rebar projects. Our offices in Markham, Kitchener, Longueuil, Caraquet, Ottawa and Quebec City now work regularly with AGF Tecnik, as do our divisions in Chile, Peru and Costa Rica.<\/p>\n

Under the direction of Thirupathi Govindarasu, our Indian division has developed very quickly while tackling a number of challenges.<\/p>\n

Rapid growth<\/h3>\n

In just one year, the team worked on more than 193 projects in collaboration with the various business units, detailing 11,000 tonnes. In the second year, tonnage reached 39,420 tonnes, exceeding the initial target of 20,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n

The team of 38 technicians and engineers quickly achieved its annual objectives, and the number of projects grew steadily. New offices were opened in July 2019; the team now has 71 employees and continues to grow.<\/p>\n

A journey full of challenges and opportunities<\/h3>\n

The challenges posed by time zone differences, language barriers and communication difficulties are all being well managed through collaboration with their Canadian counterparts. The development and launch of an internal website and a separate portal for feedback and other innovative measures have been a boon to ensuring smooth workflow.<\/p>\n

The employees have had intensive training in our techniques, detailing and our various software programs, and are taking language courses to be able to understand and work in French.<\/p>\n

The greatest challenge that arose recently is undoubtedly COVID-19. But everything has been well handled by management, who introduced preventive measures very early on. We trained the teams to ensure they comply with the mandatory measures, and a special team of detailers and estimators is able to work from any location. Very quickly, we delivered workstations to some employees’ homes and helped them work from home. We held daily online meetings with employees to check in on their well-being and their work.<\/p>\n

Now in its third year, AGF Tecnik continues to serve our various Canadian divisions with high-quality support and service to maintain the pace of business. The keys to success: cooperation and adaptability.<\/p>\n

AGF Tecnik cumple dos años<\/h3>\n

En junio de 2018, AGF Tecnik instaló sus primeras oficinas en Thanjavur, en India, con el objetivo inicial de ayudar a las divisiones canadienses a estimar y a detallar los proyectos de barras de refuerzo. Nuestras oficinas de Markhan, Kitchener, Longueuil, Caraquet, Ottawa y Quebec trabajan ahora regularmente con AGF Tecnik, al igual que nuestras divisiones en Chile, en Perú y en Costa Rica.

\nEl equipo de 38 técnicos e ingenieros rápidamente alcanzó sus objetivos anuales y el número de proyectos aumentó a un ritmo constante. Se inauguraron nuevas oficinas en julio de 2019 y el equipo cuenta desde entonces con 71 empleados y continúa creciendo.<\/p>\n

Un camino con desafíos y oportunidades<\/h3>\n

Los desafíos provocados por los diferentes husos horarios, las barreras lingüísticas y las dificultades de comunicación han sido bien administrados gracias a la colaboración con sus homólogos canadienses.<\/p>\n

La introducción y la implementación de un sitio web interno y de un portal distinto para el intercambio de información y de otras medidas innovadoras ayudaron a que el flujo de trabajo fuese continuo. <\/p>\n

Los empleados siguieron una formación intensiva sobre nuestras técnicas, el detallado y nuestros diferentes programas informáticos y siguen cursos de idiomas para entender y trabajar en francés.<\/p>\n

El más grande desafío que se presentó recientemente fue sin duda la COVID-19. Sin embargo, todo fue bien administrado por la dirección quien rápidamente implementó medidas preventivas.<\/p>\n

Formamos equipos para garantizar el respeto de las medidas obligatorias y un equipo especial de proyectistas y de estimadores capaces de trabajar a partir de cualquier lugar. En una fase precoz, enviamos rápidamente equipo para puestos de trabajo al domicilio de ciertos empleados y los ayudamos a trabajar en su casa o a aislarse sin dificultad y organizamos reuniones cotidianas en línea con los empleados y supervisamos su trabajo y su bienestar. <\/p>\n

AGF Tecnik empieza ahora su tercer año y continúa sirviendo a nuestras diferentes divisiones canadienses con un apoyo y servicio de alta calidad para mantener el ritmo de negocios. Las claves de éxito son: cooperación y adaptabilidad.
