The Gordie-Howe International Bridge connects the cities of Detroit in the United States and Windsor, Ontario, over the Detroit River. At 2.5 km long, it will be one of the 5 longest bridges in North America.<\/p>\n

The AGF Group is therefore proud to take part in this project through its AGF Rebar-Inc division which was awarded the two main footings, tie beam of the Canadian side pylon and the six side span footings of the Canadian side. The total weight of the project is roughly 1,400 mt all 500W, with roughly 510 metric tonnes of 55M. Also part of our scope of work was the supply and installation of 2,470 55M terminators, 6,554 coupler and the installation of the post-tensionning duct work.<\/p>\n

Teamwork is one of our Group’s values and this project perfectly illustrates this by being an excellent example of coordination between our different offices:<\/p>\n

–          Detailing and Project Management were done by the Kitchener Branch;
\n–          Procurement was done from the Markham Branch;
\n–          Fabrication was done mostly in London with the Kitchener branch in a supporting role;
\n–          Installation was done by the London branch<\/p>\n

It’s important to not that in these challenging times, AGF was able to perform the installation of the project following our client’s schedule.<\/p>\n

El puente internacional de Gordie-Howe une la ciudad de Detroit en Estados Unidos con Windsor en Ontario, sobre el río Detroit. Gracias a sus 2.5 km de largo, una vez completado formará parte de los cinco puentes más largos de Norteamérica.
\nGrupo AGF se enorgullece de formar parte de este proyecto a través de su división AGF Rebar-Inc, la cual está a cargo de la realización de los dos lados principales, así como de los seis lados del tramo lateral del lado canadiense. El peso total del proyecto es de aproximadamente 1400 t con aproximadamente 510 t de acero de diámetro 55.<\/p>\n

El trabajo de equipo es uno de los valores de nuestro Grupo y este proyecto es un ejemplo excelente de la coordinación y de la ejecución entre nuestras diferentes oficinas:
\n– El detallado, así como la gestión de proyecto fueron realizados por Kitchener;
\n– El aprovisionamiento fue realizado por las oficinas de Markham;
\n– La fabricación y la instalación fueron principalmente realizadas por los equipos de London; la división de Kitchener desempeñó sobre todo un papel de apoyo.<\/p>\n

También es importante subrayar que, a pesar del contexto difícil, los equipos fueron capaces de realizar el proyecto respetando los plazos del cliente.<\/p>\n
