Indeed, the evening supervisor must be able to coordinate seamlessly with his day-shift supervisor eliminating all unnecessary delays with fabrication, in addition to making health and safety the top priority!&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe London shop is currently operating with six employees, but we&rsquo;re in the process of recruiting. There are plans to increase the day and evening shifts to a total of&nbsp; 15-17 workers.&nbsp;&raquo;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Stoyan Ivanov (S.I)<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;In Ottawa, the afternoon\/evening shift started on June 22 with four operators.This shift has grown to 7 with the intent on having 2 to 3 shears work during the second shift.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>What challenges did you encounter?<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>M.K.<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;: &ldquo;In London, the main challenges are hiring and training new employees within a limited timeframe. &nbsp;It is important that this be done quickly&mdash;and more importantly, safely.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>S.I :&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>&ldquo;&nbsp;The big challenge in Ottawa resulted from the fact that the plant is outdoors. This meant dealing with lighting, insect control and weather. To make matters worse, we had a flood about a week ago. The rain was so intense that in the yard, between the shear lines, the water was above our knees. I&#8217;m so proud of how far we&#8217;ve come and the level of production we&#8217;ve achieved. We have hired a few more very junior staff members and with training and mentoring from the experienced staff, they will in time be part of the continued effort to increase production. Special mention goes to Michael Olstad, our afternoon shift shear operator, who went above and beyond the call of duty.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ligne_bleue_separation_version_e-2303.jpg\" style=\"height:67px; width:400px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Para aumentar nuestra capacidad de producci&oacute;n, desde hace varias semanas se implement&oacute; un turno de trabajo suplementario en AGF Rebar&ndash;London y AGF Steel, Ottawa. Mikael Kobryn y Stoyan Ivan nos explican lo que esto implica.<\/p>\n<h3>&iquest;Cu&aacute;les son las implicaciones de este turno suplementario a nivel organizacional?&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Mikael Kobryn (M.K.)<\/strong><\/em>: &ldquo;La implementaci&oacute;n de un equipo vespertino implica una supervisi&oacute;n estricta. En efecto, el supervisor de la tarde debe poder garantizar una coordinaci&oacute;n infalible con el supervisor del equipo de la ma&ntilde;ana, eliminando todo retraso in&uacute;til en la fabricaci&oacute;n. &iexcl;Debe igualmente darle prioridad a la salud y la seguridad!<br \/>\nLa f&aacute;brica de London funciona actualmente con seis empleados, pero estamos actualmente contratando mano de obra. Naturalmente, est&aacute; previsto aumentar los equipos de la ma&ntilde;ana y la tarde para alcanzar un total de 17 trabajadores.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Stoyan Ivanov (S.I)<\/strong><\/em>.: &ldquo;En Ottawa, el turno vespertino inici&oacute; el 22 de junio con cuatro operadores. El turno de trabajo inicia a las 14:00 y termina a las 23:00 (excepto los viernes, en los que el horario es de 13:00 a 21:00).&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h3>&iquest;Cu&aacute;les son los desaf&iacute;os a los cuales se han enfrentado?<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>M.K<\/strong><\/em>: &ldquo;En London, los desaf&iacute;os principales radican en la contrataci&oacute;n y en la capacitaci&oacute;n de los empleados nuevos en un lapso limitado. Es importante que se haga r&aacute;pidamente pero tambi&eacute;n, y sobre todo, en toda seguridad.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>S.I<\/strong><\/em>: &ldquo;En Ottawa, el desaf&iacute;o mayor estaba relacionado con el hecho de que la f&aacute;brica est&aacute; al aire libre. Por esta raz&oacute;n, fue necesario organizarse con la luz, la lucha contra los insectos y el clima. Encima de todo, hubo una inundaci&oacute;n hace una semana. La lluvia fue tan intensa que, en el patio, entre las l&iacute;neas de corte, el agua nos llegaba hasta las rodillas.
