Over the past several years, the AGF Group has worked on a growing number of wind turbine construction projects : Windmills, Whitla Wind, Golden South Wind, to name a few.<\/p>\n

AGF Rebar – Calgary, the wind in its sails<\/strong><\/h3>\n

AGF has built an excellent reputation in Western Canada for building wind turbine bases, primarily through its AGF Rebar – Calgary division, making the Group one of the leaders in this market in Canada.<\/p>\n

Just recently, our Alberta division was awarded the contract for phases 2 and 3 of Whitla Wind Farm <\/a> and confirmed its participation in the Rattlesnake Ridge wind farm. Located in southeastern Alberta, this project represents approximately <\/p>\n

1,400 MT of steel for AGF and will begin in April. Construction is expected to keep AGF Reinforcing’s teams busy for six to eight weeks.  <\/p>\n

“Des Cultures” Wind Farm<\/strong><\/h3>\n

But Western Canada is not the only place where AGF has been involved in building wind farms. Acier AGF Longueuil took part in the wind farm “Des Cultures ” in St-Rémi-de-Napierville with Borea Construction (a division of Pomerleau).<\/p>\n

This project, completed at the end of December, was highly complex in terms of detailing, fabrication\/assembly and installation. In a span of six weeks, the teams built six wind turbine bases with a 21-metre diameter. More than 600 MT of steel went into this project, including 470 MT of 500W grade steel.<\/p>\n

Once again, our teams garnered praise for the quality of their work of the project.<\/p>\n

Los conocimientos especializados de AGF en las plantas eólicas<\/strong><\/p>\n

Desde hace ya varios años, Grupo AGF ha multiplicado los proyectos en el sector de la construcción de plantas eólicas: Windmills, Witla Wind, Golden South Wind…<\/p>\n

AGF se ha forjado una excelente reputación en el oeste de Canadá en la realización de bases eólicas por medio de su división AGF Reinforcing, lo cual ha hecho del Grupo uno de los líderes en este mercado en Canadá.<\/p>\n

Recientemente, nuestra división de Alberta obtuvo las fases 2 y 3 de Whitla Wind <\/a> y confirmó su participación en el parque eólico de Rattlesnake Ridge. Situado en el sudeste de Alberta, este proyecto representa aproximadamente 1400 t de acero para AGF e iniciará en abril. La obra debe de durar entre seis y ocho semanas para los equipos de AGF Rebar – Calgary.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, no es solamente en el oeste de Canadá que AGF labora en la construcción de parques eólicos. En efecto, Acier AGF Longueuil formó parte del proyecto del Parque eólico de las Culturas en St‑Rémi‑de‑Napierville con Borea Construction (una división de Pomerleau).<\/p>\n

Este proyecto, terminado a finales de diciembre, fue muy complejo en el detallado, la fabricación, el ensamblado y la instalación. En el transcurso de seis semanas, los equipos realizaron seis bases eólicas de 21 m de diámetro. Para este proyecto se utilizaron 600 t de acero, de las cuales 470 t fueron de acero de grado 500W.<\/p>\n

También en este caso los equipos fueron felicitados por la calidad de ejecución de este proyecto.<\/p>\n
