AGF Group’s seventh annual Health and Safety Week took place from May 3 to 7. <\/p>\n

The aim of this annual event is to promote awareness and create synergies by organizing value-added activities to support the company’s health and safety culture. <\/p>\n

A launch with impact<\/h3>\n

Serge Gendron,Eng.,FEC,<\/em> and Maxime Gendron, Eng., launched the week with a video conference in which they both reiterated their commitment to providing AGF employees with a safe work environment.<\/p>\n

It was an opportunity to clarify AGF’s health and safety program, which focuses on: 
\n – Improvements to processes: systematically implementing safety analyses for tasks, reporting near misses, deploying risk analysis tools; 
\n– Improvements to visible leadership: making managers and supervisors aware of health and safety issues and developing a culture of prevention;
\n– Improvements to the workplace: equipping machines with machine guards, lockout methods, cleanliness and good order.<\/p>\n

New health and safety slogan and other highlights: <\/h3>\n

Developed in collaboration with AGF employees, our new OHS slogan was announced to kick off this week of prevention:
\nRebar, our strength, 
\nSafety, our commitment.<\/p>\n

There were a number of other activities at our divisions across Canada: 
\n– A talk hosted by Marc-André Ferron, an inspiring leader in OHS management, on the topic of prevention and everyone’s responsibility in matters of health and safety;
\n– Risk observation sessions at the plants and shift meetings to raise awareness of identifying hazards;
\n– Fact sheets for employees with tips on workstation ergonomics. <\/p>\n
