Fondation du Centre jeunesse de la Montérégie<\/strong><\/h3>\n

AGF employees from the Quebec divisions contributed to the Fondation du Centre jeunesse de la Montérégie’s “La Rentrée en Beauté” project. Our goal was to sponsor six elementary and high school children by providing them with all the school supplies they need for the new school year. With the donations collected, we largely surpassed our goal. Fourteen children received a full backpack and a lunch box to get the school year off to a great start. Red Door Family Shelter<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This was a great initiative by the Scarborough plant and office employees, who organized a 50\/50 draw for the Red Door Family Shelter, which helps families and women who are victims of domestic violence. The event was a great success: 174 tickets sold and $220 raised. Catherine Gendron, the AGF Group Foundation’s General Manager, was on hand to draw the lucky number, which belonged to Moorthy, a shearer. When presented with the $110 prize, Moorthy said, “There are people less fortunate than we are. Please give it to them.” We applaud his generosity and dedication to the cause.<\/p>\n

SickKids Foundation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Throughout August, 10 AGF employees, including nine from Scarborough, participated in the Great Cycle Challenge in support of the SickKids Foundation. This foundation raises funds to research and develop treatments for childhood cancers. Currently, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer each year in Canada, and it’s the leading cause of death in children. The AGF team’s goal is to cycle 1,000 km and raise $1,000 for this cause. As of August 18, they have already cycled over 592 km and raised over $2,440. Fundación del Centro de la juventud de Montérégie<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Los empleados de las divisiones de AGF en Quebec contribuyeron al proyecto “El regreso a clases en grande” de la Fundación del Centro de la juventud de Montérégie. Teníamos como objetivo apadrinar a seis niños de primaria y de secundaria ofreciéndoles todo el material escolar necesario para el regreso a clases. Gracias a los donativos recaudados, sobrepasamos ampliamente nuestro objetivo. Catorce niños recibieron una mochila llena y una lonchera para un buen regreso a clases. ¡Gracias!<\/p>\n

La actividad tuvo un éxito rotundo con la venta de 174 boletos y un monto recaudado de 220 CAD. Catherine Gendron, Directora general de la Fundación Grupo AGF, estuvo presente cuando se seleccionó el número ganador que pertenecía a Moorthy, operador de cizalla. Cuando le entregaron el monto ganado de 110 CAD, respondió: “Hay gente menos privilegiada. Por favor, entréguenle este monto.” Deseamos destacar su generosidad hacia la causa.<\/p>\n

Fundación SickKids<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Durante todo el mes de agosto, diez empleados de AGF, de los cuales nueve de Scarborough, decidieron participar en el “Great Cycle Challenge” en beneficio de la Fundación SickKids. Esta fundación recauda fondos para la investigación y el desarrollo de tratamientos contra el cáncer infantil.
