Here is the question of the month: <\/p>\n

What is the vision of AGF about our environmental footprint?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A few months ago, the AGF Group management decided to adopt a policy to reduce our environmental footprint, and more broadly—as a socially responsible company—an environmental, social and governance (ESG) policy.<\/p>\n

Our first initiatives are aimed at optimizing our consumption of electricity, gradually electrifying our fleet of light vehicles, installing charging stations at each of our business units, choosing environmentally responsible suppliers, reinforcing our recycling practices, and many others.<\/p>\n

Speaking of recycling, it’s interesting to note that our raw material, reinforcing steel, is made from more than 97% recycled steel scrap. New technologies will very soon make it possible for steel mills to reduce their carbon emissions.<\/p>\n

This is a good start! An ESG committee has been set up at AGF and is evaluating the next areas for improvement, which we will be sure to share with you.<\/p>\n

Pregunta al presidente: ¿Qué sucede con los desafíos medioambientales para AGF? ¿El acero de refuerzo es un material reciclable?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Desde hace ya cierto tiempo, la dirección de Grupo AGF decidió establecer una política sobre la reducción de nuestras emisiones de carbono y, en un sentido más amplio, como empresa responsable socialmente, una política sobre los factores ambientales, sociales y de gobierno corporativo (ESG, por sus siglas en inglés).<\/p>\n

Nuestras primeras acciones tienen como objetivo la optimización de nuestro consumo eléctrico, la electrificación gradual de nuestra flota de vehículos ligeros, la instalación de estaciones de carga en cada una de nuestras unidades de negocios, la elección de proveedores eco-responsables, el refuerzo de nuestras prácticas de reciclaje, y mucho más.<\/p>\n

En lo referente al reciclaje, es interesante notar que nuestra materia prima, el acero de refuerzo, es un producto que proviene en más del 97% de chatarra de acero reciclado. Próximamente, nuevas tecnologías les permitirán a las fábricas de acero reducir sus emisiones de carbono. ¡Es un buen comienzo! Se ha creado un comité, el cual evalúa las próximas pistas para mejorar, las cuales les daremos a conocer en su momento.<\/p>\n
