{"id":48552,"date":"2022-11-03T08:27:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-03T12:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/uncategorized\/the-stms-hybrid-bus-garage-bellechasse"},"modified":"2024-05-07T15:47:04","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T19:47:04","slug":"the-stms-hybrid-bus-garage-bellechasse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/projects\/the-stms-hybrid-bus-garage-bellechasse","title":{"rendered":"The STM\u2019s hybrid bus garage (Bellechasse)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>AGF is currently working on an innovative green project: the STM&rsquo;s new hybrid bus garage on Bellechasse Street in Montreal.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the work being done, between 15 and 30 of our employees are involved.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>There are a number of things that make this project special:<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&#8211; First, two AGF divisions&mdash;Longueuil and Calgary&mdash;are working in tandem on this project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Second, it is more complex than usual, because of its &ldquo;hybrid&rdquo; nature. It involves not only reinforcing steel but also structural steel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Lastly, we&rsquo;re proud that it&rsquo;s a LEED project.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>What is LEED?<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a set of building standards that applies to new and renovated buildings. It focuses on the rational and efficient use of energy, materials and water. Compliance with these standards leads to LEED certification.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>In concrete terms, what does this mean?<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Waste sorting on the construction site is very precise.<\/li>\n<li>All water used will be recovered and used for bus maintenance and upkeep.<\/li>\n<li>It will have a low visual impact on nearby residents. The roofs will be entirely green.<\/li>\n<li>The garage will service hybrid buses only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Team synergies<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Calgary team is responsible for the detailing and project management, whereas production, installation and estimating guidelines? guideline estimates? are handled in Longueuil.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, we have successfully completed a growing number of projects by working in synergy, which fosters performance and team spirit.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Challenges<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The STM&rsquo;s hybrid bus garage presents several challenges. Here are some of them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The rock on the building site is especially friable. Tunnelling and anchoring were therefore essential to consolidate the structure.<\/li>\n<li>As the work progressed, the evolving environment called for regular changes to plans as well as numerous detail drawings (exceptionally, done by hand by the customer).<\/li>\n<li>Indoor storage and logistics are uncommon and not as easy as outdoor storage.<\/li>\n<li>Some bending and cutting had to be done directly on site and not at the plant, for logistical reasons, which meant we had to bring in a large amount of steel very early in the project, without it already being ready for installation, simply because transport afterward would have been impossible because there was no crane access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In conclusion, this is an unprecedented project, in keeping with AGF&#8217;s vision to increasingly work on its overall social responsibility in the construction industry.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rebar installer: a stimulating occupation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the STM project, one of our installers working on this site recently spoke about his job in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.journaldequebec.com\/2022\/10\/29\/un-dep-a-change-leur-vie-en-mieux-sa-job-de-poseur-darmature-de-beton-il-ladore?fbclid=IwAR1CNvIZTtFbwJMC64G_8PXiNr-noU0eQcgLTZ0Or9OH-jJkEO0t-lqduRs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal de Qu&eacute;bec<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Laurent_Aurelien-7.png\" style=\"height:382px; width:560px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My life has changed dramatically, largely because of my training [in rebar installation]. [in French only]<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ligne_bleue_separation_version_e-2447.jpg\" style=\"height:67px; width:400px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Estacionamientos de autobuses h&iacute;bridos de la STM (Bellechasse)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AGF trabaja en este momento en un proyecto ecol&oacute;gico e innovador: nuevos estacionamientos para los autobuses h&iacute;bridos de la STM (Sociedad de Transporte de Montreal), en la calle Bellechasse, en Montreal.<\/p>\n<p>En funci&oacute;n de los per&iacute;odos de trabajo, entre quince y treinta trabajadores de AGF se dedican a ello.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Cabe se&ntilde;alar que se trata de un proyecto con grandes particularidades<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&ndash; En efecto, el proyecto se lleva a cabo de manera sin&eacute;rgica entre dos divisiones de AGF: la de Longueuil y la de Calgary.<\/p>\n<p>&ndash; A continuaci&oacute;n, es m&aacute;s complejo que ordinario, ya que es &ldquo;mixto&rdquo;. De hecho, no est&aacute; compuesto solamente de acero de refuerzo, sino tambi&eacute;n de acero de estructura.<\/p>\n<p>&ndash; Asimismo, nos enorgullece decir que es un proyecto LEED.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>&iquest;Qu&eacute; es un proyecto LEED?<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>LEED es un conjunto de normas de construcci&oacute;n que se aplica a los edificios nuevos o renovados, el cual tiene como objetivo una utilizaci&oacute;n racional y eficaz de energ&iacute;a, de materiales y de agua. El respecto de estas normas conduce a la obtenci&oacute;n de la certificaci&oacute;n LEED.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Concretamente, esto es lo que representa<\/u><\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>La clasificaci&oacute;n de los residuos en la obra es muy preciso.<\/li>\n<li>Toda el agua utilizada ser&aacute; recuperada y servir&aacute; para el mantenimiento de los autobuses.<\/li>\n<li>El impacto visual ser&aacute; bajo para los residentes. Los techos ser&aacute;n totalmente verdes.<\/li>\n<li>Estos estacionamientos albergar&aacute;n solamente autobuses h&iacute;bridos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><u>La sinergia entre nuestros equipos<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Nuestro equipo de Calgary lleva a cabo el detallado y la gesti&oacute;n de proyectos, y la producci&oacute;n, la instalaci&oacute;n y las estimaciones de directrices se realizan en Longueuil.<\/p>\n<p>Con los a&ntilde;os, cada vez m&aacute;s nuestros proyectos se realizan gracias a este trabajo mano a mano, el cual favorece el desempe&ntilde;o y el esp&iacute;ritu de equipo.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Los desaf&iacute;os del proyecto<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El proyecto de la STM de los estacionamientos de autobuses h&iacute;bridos representa numerosos desaf&iacute;os. Se los presentamos a continuaci&oacute;n:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>En la obra, la piedra es particularmente fr&aacute;gil. Es por esta raz&oacute;n que la construcci&oacute;n de los t&uacute;neles y la instalaci&oacute;n de anclajes para consolidar la estructura son esenciales.<\/li>\n<li>La evoluci&oacute;n del medioambiente, conforme avanza la obra, ha necesitado cambios de plan constantes, as&iacute; como numerosos dibujos de detallado (en esta ocasi&oacute;n, de manera excepcional, realizados a mano por el cliente).<\/li>\n<li>La log&iacute;stica y el almacenamiento en el interior son raros y menos sencillos que en el exterior.<\/li>\n<li>El plegado y el corte en algunas ocasiones tuvieron que realizarse directamente en la obra y no en la f&aacute;brica por razones de log&iacute;stica que nos obligaron a transportar, a inicios del proyecto, una gran parte de acero sin que estuviera ya listo para ser instalado, simplemente porque el transporte ulterior hubiese sido imposible por la falta de acceso para las gr&uacute;as.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>En conclusi&oacute;n, se trata de un proyecto in&eacute;dito, que encaja con la visi&oacute;n de AGF de trabajar, cada vez m&aacute;s, en la responsabilidad social global en el sector de la construcci&oacute;n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instalador de acero de refuerzo: &iexcl;un oficio apasionante! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Respecto al proyecto de la STM, uno de nuestros instaladores de acero en esta obra recientemente habl&oacute; de su oficio en el diario el&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.journaldequebec.com\/2022\/10\/29\/un-dep-a-change-leur-vie-en-mieux-sa-job-de-poseur-darmature-de-beton-il-ladore?fbclid=IwAR1CNvIZTtFbwJMC64G_8PXiNr-noU0eQcgLTZ0Or9OH-jJkEO0t-lqduRs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal de Qu&eacute;bec<\/a><u>.<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Laurent_Aurelien-8.png\" style=\"height:382px; width:560px\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Mi vida cambi&oacute; considerablemente y es en buena parte gracias a esta formaci&oacute;n <em>[para instalar acero de refuerzo]<\/em>.
