The city of Trois-Rivières is currently testing an intelligent traffic light system, and our local Acier AGF division has the opportunity to play a part in it.<\/p>\n

The concept is to use data from trucks in Trois-Rivières using GPS devices anonymously to synchronize traffic lights.<\/p>\n

The project is aimed at:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • reducing useless stops made by trucks at traffic lights;<\/li>\n
  • reducing time wasted in traffic;<\/li>\n
  • minimizing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions;<\/li>\n
  • providing an economic environment that promotes the growth of local businesses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The service is available to local businesses at no cost, to facilitate truck travel and help reduce GHGs in the city.<\/p>\n

    Many of the trucks used by AGF Trois-Rivières are currently equipped with GPS devices that make it possible to control traffic signals.<\/p>\n

    We can therefore gain a measurable understanding of wait times, travel times, stops and starts at various intersections and on different road segments in Trois-Rivières, as well as the estimated fuel consumption related to operations on this territory.<\/p>\n

    It’s a definite plus for the planet, for drivers and for AGF!<\/p>\n

    Proyecto piloto ecológico en Trois-Rivières<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    En este momento, se está probando un sistema de señales de tráfico inteligentes en la ciudad de Trois-Rivières y nuestra división local de Acier AGF tuvo la oportunidad de participar en él.<\/p>\n

    El concepto es vincular los datos de los camiones en Trois-Rivières y utilizar las rutas GPS de manera anónima para activar las señales de tráfico en el momento oportuno.<\/p>\n

    Este proyecto tiene como objetivo:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
      \n
    • reducir las paradas inútiles de los camiones por las señales de tráfico;<\/li>\n
    • reducir el tiempo perdido en la circulación;<\/li>\n
    • minimizar las emisiones de gases de efecto de invernadero (GEI);<\/li>\n
    • ofrecer un ambiente económico que favorezca el crecimiento de empresas locales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      El servicio es gratuito para las empresas locales con el fin de facilitar los desplazamientos de los camiones y de contribuir a la reducción de GEI en la ciudad.<\/p>\n

      En cuanto a Acier AGF Trois-Rivières, nuestros camiones están equipados con un dispositivo GPS que permite activar las señales de tráfico.<\/p>\n

      De esta manera, podemos entender las medidas para el tiempo de espera, el tiempo de recorrido, las paradas y salidas en las diferentes intersecciones y los diferentes segmentos de ruta en Trois‑Rivières, así como las estimaciones de consumo energético relacionadas con las operaciones en este territorio.<\/p>\n
