AGF Group is participating in the 4th Avenue retaining wall project in Cochrane, Alberta.  As part of the highway 1A improvement project and the realignment of 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue to enhance traffic flow, a new retaining wall is currently under construction. The wall, embellished by a sign displaying the town’s name, stands as a welcoming emblem, symbolizing the entrance to the town of Cochrane.<\/p>\n

AGF’s involvement in the project <\/strong><\/h3>\n

AGF is fortunate to be able to participate in this magnificent project to welcome residents and visitors alike. So far, a team of five to six AGF employees, under the direction of foreman Vac Roach, has been involved in the installation of the wall, which is now complete. Only one section of the coping remains to be finalized, a step scheduled for the coming months once the concrete is finished.<\/p>\n

A challenge in terms of height<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Thanks to this project, AGF was once again able to demonstrate its expertise. AGF’s workers bravely climbed up the wall in harnesses to complete the high-level work required to build the wall, some sections of which were 50 feet high! In addition, a particular feature of this project was the light weight and low rigidity of the reinforcing bars. AGF therefore had to be creative in its fall protection plan to ensure that workers could install the rebar in complete safety.<\/p>\n

This project highlights AGF’s unwavering dedication to building infrastructure that enhances our cities and communities. Congratulations to the team involved in this beautiful project!<\/p>\n

Muro de contención de la 4ª avenida en Cochrane, Alberta<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Grupo AGF participa en el proyecto de construcción del muro de contención de la 4ª avenida en Cochrane, Alberta. En efecto, el muro se está construyendo en el marco del proyecto de perfeccionamiento de la autopista 1A y del realineamiento de la 4ª a la 5ª avenida, que servirá para mejorar la circulación. Este muro, adornado con un cartel con la inscripción “Cochrane”, se eleva como un emblema de bienvenida que simboliza la entrada a la ciudad de Cochrane.<\/p>\n

La participación de AGF en el proyecto<\/strong><\/h3>\n

AGF tiene la suerte de participar en este magnífico proyecto para recibir a residentes y visitantes. Hasta ahora, un equipo de entre cinco y seis empleados de AGF ha participado en la instalación del muro, que ya se ha completado, bajo la dirección del contramaestre Vac Roach. Solamente queda por finalizar una sección de coronamiento, la cual está prevista para los próximos meses una vez que se termine la etapa del hormigón.<\/p>\n

Un desafío de altura<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gracias a este proyecto, AGF pudo demostrar una vez más sus conocimientos especializados. Los trabajadores de AGF se elevaron con valentía, colgados de arneses en la pared, para llevar a cabo los trabajos necesarios para la realización de este muro; ¡algunas partes alcanzan 15 m (50 ft) de altura! Además, una particularidad de este proyecto era el bajo peso y la poca rigidez de las barras de refuerzo. Por lo tanto, AGF tuvo que demostrar su creatividad en el plan de protección contra caídas para garantizar que los trabajadores pudieran realizar la instalación de las barras de refuerzo de una manera completamente segura.<\/p>\n
