AGF Group aims to be a leader in its field, both technically and in terms of its beneficial impact on its community.<\/p>\n

By implementing positive and effective measures, we ensure that our decisions are in harmony with our corporate values.<\/p>\n

Continuing in this direction means increasing the number of “green” projects in our order book, making our practices environmentally responsible and implementing an ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) program within the Group.<\/p>\n

Hydroelectric power plants<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Among the major civil engineering projects that AGF has worked on are large hydroelectric dams. As early as 1969, Laurent Gendron had a vision of getting into these types of projects. He sent crews to Churchill Falls in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador to build an underground hydroelectric plant. […] The early 2000s saw the construction of the Grand-Mère dam in Quebec’s Mauricie region.” Ever since, projects such as these have continued to exist at AGF, opening up new horizons in energy management.<\/p>\n

Wind farms <\/strong><\/p>\n

“Wind turbines, which provide green energy, are a forward-looking sector both for society and for AGF.  […] These include Windmills, Whitla Wind and Golden South Wind in Western Canada, as well as Adelaide and Ripley in Ontario, to name a few. In Quebec, AGF has contributed to a large number of the province’s wind farms since the emergence of this energy sector in 1999.<\/p>\n

“No matter the energy development project, AGF has always been there, wherever it is. It can be as close as Montreal or as distant as the Far North. That’s what AGF is all about! If we see an opportunity to grow and apply our expertise, we go for it,” recalls Gabriel Bonin, vice-president for AGF’s Caribbean and India divisions.<\/p>\n

AGF: hacia un futuro más ecológico<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Centrales hidroeléctricas<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Entre las grandes obras de ingeniería civil realizadas con la contribución de AGF figuran las grandes presas hidroeléctricas. Desde 1969, Laurent Gendron tenía la visión de emprender este tipo de proyectos. Envió equipos a Churchill Falls, en la provincia de Terranova y Labrador, para la construcción de una central hidroeléctrica subterránea. […] A principios de la década del 2000 se construyó la presa de Grand-Mère, en la región de Mauricie.” Desde entonces, este tipo de proyectos no ha dejado de existir en AGF, abriendo nuevos horizontes en materia de gestión energética.<\/p>\n

Centrales eólicas<\/strong><\/h3>\n

“Las centrales eólicas proporcionan energía renovable y es un sector en crecimiento tanto para la sociedad como para nuestra empresa. […] Entre ellas figuran Windmills, Whitla Wind y Golden South Wind en el oeste de Canadá, y Adelaide y Ripley en Ontario, por citar sólo algunas. En Quebec, AGF ha contribuido a una gran parte de las centrales eólicas de la provincia desde que se empezó a desarrollar el sector energético en 1999.”<\/p>\n
