This article was written in collaboration with Marc Fortin, Senior Installation and Production Manager for AGF Steel (Ottawa).<\/em><\/p>\n

For several years at AGF, teamwork has enabled large-scale collaboration.<\/p>\n

Our production and installation capacity is multiplied thanks to our extensive geographical location. This is particularly what allows us to work on great\u00a0institutional projects such as the Ottawa University Health & Science Building, the Museum of Nature or even the Place du portage project in Ottawa which we are going to tell you about.<\/p>\n

The Place du Portage<\/em> project in Gatineau comprises four major federal government complexes.<\/p>\n

We are currently working on the Portage III building with EllisDon, which is also managing the project’s seismic design.<\/p>\n

At the beginning, this only represented 90 metric tons of reinforcing steel and we were only asked for the supply of rebar since our installation team was already pretty busy\u00a0on other projects.\u00a0After several discussions, we finally decided to work in synergy with other AGF divisions.<\/p>\n

That’s how teammates from AGF in\u00a0Longueuil came to work\u00a0for the entire installation. An AGF Tecnik in India is in charge of all the detailing.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s truly a team effort. So far, we’ve installed 123 MT of rebar.<\/p>\n

Proyecto de la Place du Portage en Gatineau<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Este art\u00edculo se redact\u00f3 en colaboraci\u00f3n con Marc Fortin, Director de Instalaci\u00f3n y Producci\u00f3n de AGF Steel (Ottawa).<\/em><\/p>\n

El proyecto Place du Portage en Gatineau\u00a0agrupa cuatro grandes complejos del gobierno federal.
\nActualmente, estamos trabajando en el tercer edificio con EllisDon quien, por su parte, se encarga de gestionar el acondicionamiento s\u00edsmico del proyecto.<\/p>\n

Al principio, este representaba solamente 90\u00a0t de acero y nos solicitaron \u00fanicamente el suministro de acero, ya que no cont\u00e1bamos con suficiente mano de obra en el lugar para realizar la instalaci\u00f3n. \u00a1Despu\u00e9s de varias discusiones, finalmente decidimos trabajar en sinergia con varias divisiones!<\/p>\n

As\u00ed es como AGF Longueuil se ofreci\u00f3 voluntariamente para realizar toda la instalaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, AGF Tecnik, en India, se encarga de la totalidad del detallado.<\/p>\n
