{"id":63197,"date":"2024-11-25T10:15:09","date_gmt":"2024-11-25T15:15:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/?p=63197"},"modified":"2024-11-26T10:52:00","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T15:52:00","slug":"back-to-light-the-night-the-llsc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/foundation\/back-to-light-the-night-the-llsc","title":{"rendered":"Back to Light the Night, the LLSC&#8217;s major campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As you&#8217;re no doubt aware, over the past few months AGF has been working alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodcancers.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC)<\/a> to support its major Illuminate the Night campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What is Light The Night?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Light The Night is their annual event in support of the blood cancer community. This event brings together participants who walk at dusk carrying illuminated lanterns of different colors, symbolizing various experiences related to blood cancers:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>White lantern<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: carried by survivors or those currently undergoing treatment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Red lantern<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: to support the cause.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Golden lantern<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: in memory of loved ones who have died from blood cancer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The campaign&#8217;s main objective is to raise funds for blood cancer research, provide patient support services and raise public awareness of the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Many walks across Canada&#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That&#8217;s where our teams come in! A number of our team members, in several of our divisions, proudly walked in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Halifax, London, Calgary and Vancouver.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maxime Gendron &#8211;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/groupeagf.com\/en\/the-network\/foundation\/maxime-gendron-to-co-chair-llscs-light-the-night-campaign\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> co-chair of this year&#8217;s Light The Night campaign in Quebec<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; made no secret of his enthusiasm and emotion at the Montreal event: \u201cI&#8217;m really proud of our AGF team captains, who led their campaigns with determination. Well done to Marilyne Gemme, Praba Kandasamyar, Islam Khan, Courtney Pag\u00e9, Pouya Abbasi, Louise Valiquette and Nicket Dave!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each of them has taken on the following mission: Raise as much money as possible and walk in honor of all those touched by this cause.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the campaign was a great success in every province, it was a particular highlight in Montreal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to everyone&#8217;s support, the AGF team in Longueuil was named the best corporate team of the 2024 campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>&#8230;With exceptional partners<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, we&#8217;re extremely pleased with all the help from our business partners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When we told them about the cause, they jumped right on board. ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, PwC, Intact, Covalen and Banque Nationale even created Light The Night fundraising teams! We&#8217;re very grateful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>&#8211;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A huge thank you to all those who worked alongside us for the cause.
