Whether it\u2019s on scaffolding to build a rebar wall, on an intermediate floor slab of a tall building or on a bridge, every additional metre above the ground increases not only the risks, but also the responsibility.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #165788;\">Risks that don\u2019t forgive<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>A fall, even from just a few metres, can have serious, even irreversible, consequences. The main causes of accidents include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Using defective or poorly adjusted harness equipment<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Lack of specific training<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Poor terrain assessment or unstable platforms<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Errors due to fatigue or inattention<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Unfavourable weather conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At AGF, we know that one second of inattention can change everything. They are mandatory for all employees performing tasks at heights and must be renewed periodically to stay compliant with current standards.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #165788;\">Best practices on site<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>For every task performed at heights, our teams make sure to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Inspect equipment before every use<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Use only certified equipment suited to the task<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and at all times<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Keep the work area clear to prevent falling objects<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Use proper and compliant anchor points<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Communicate clearly and never work alone at heights<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Be mindful of physical and mental health<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Follow all safety standards and procedures<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Adapt work methods to weather conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #165788;\">A collective commitment<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>At AGF, safety<\/strong> doesn\u2019t rest on one person\u2019s shoulders: <strong>it\u2019s everyone\u2019s responsibility<\/strong>.
