AGF is proud to be collaborating with SIDCAN, a trusted contractor, on two significant projects.<\/p>\n
One of these projects, La Petite Maison on Laprairie located in Point-Saint-Charles, is designed to be a model of both community resilience and environmental responsibility. This community housing development will incorporate 193 metric tonnes of rebar and include 52 residential units. The building will also feature commercial space on the ground floor and office space on the second floor, with the upper floors dedicated to residential living.<\/p>\n
A key feature of this project is the installation of IsoCore balconies, which are designed to improve energy efficiency by reducing thermal bridging. While more complex to install and requiring additional reinforcement, these balconies act as integrated thermal barriers within the structure. This significantly reduces heat loss, enhances energy performance, and improves comfort for residents.<\/p>\n
The installation of IsoCore balconies also demands a high level of expertise from our teams. Although the installation process is similar to that of a standard balcony, it requires more precise reinforcement, additional rebar, and careful coordination with other trades. The margin for error in alignment and installation is minimal, showcasing the advanced skills and experience of our crews.<\/p>\n
Approximately three AGF employees are currently working on site, including Eric Harvey, a foreman at AGF Groupe. Eric is especially proud to have begun this project alongside his two sons and to still be working on it today with one of them.<\/p>\n
AGF began work on the project in August 2025 and expects to complete its portion of the work this spring.<\/p>\n
We are also proud to be contributing to the Angus Block 5 and Block 7 Affordable Housing Condos in Montreal. These two eight-storey residential towers will require a total of 729 metric tonnes of rebar, with commercial space located on the ground floor of each building.<\/p>\n
Currently, seven to eight AGF rebar placers are actively working on site. Once completed, the towers will be connected by several walkways.<\/p>\n
AGF began work on this site in June 2025 and anticipates completing its work in the spring of 2027.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
