The 2026 AGF Golden Rebar Awards recognized teams that stood out in an exceptional way over the past year by embodying the values that guide our organization on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
This year, from Peru to Chile, from Trois-Rivi\u00e8res to Ontario, through Longueuil and Halifax, these recognitions highlight the strength of our international network and the richness of the initiatives driven by our teams.<\/p>\n
The Health and Safety Award was presented to the Trois-Rivi\u00e8res team, which demonstrated a remarkable commitment to prevention, innovation, and employee well-being.<\/p>\n
The team developed a technical improvement to a manual bending machine in order to reduce physical strain and help prevent shoulder and back injuries. This concrete initiative perfectly illustrates a proactive prevention approach, focused on the real needs of workers.<\/p>\n
Beyond this improvement, the business unit also achieved strong results while advancing its health and safety culture. Employees and supervisors demonstrated greater ownership, increased vigilance, and a daily commitment to making safety a shared responsibility.<\/p>\n
Through their on-the-ground leadership and continuous improvement efforts, the Trois-Rivi\u00e8res team clearly stood out this year. Congratulations!<\/p>\n
The Team Spirit Award was presented to AGF Chile, a team that powerfully embodies perseverance and pride in work accomplished together.<\/p>\n
For more than a decade, AGF Chile has been building something remarkable. Starting from scratch eleven years ago, the team took on numerous challenges:<\/p>\n
What particularly sets AGF Chile apart is the collective effort of its employees, at every level of the organization.<\/p>\n
Their journey demonstrates the full power of a team moving in the same direction, with a constant drive to improve and push beyond their limits together.
\n\u00a1Bravo, AGF Chile!<\/p>\n
This year, the Leadership category gave rise to a special recognition, as two teams were honoured: Longueuil and Ontario.<\/p>\n
Despite very different realities, both teams demonstrated the same essential qualities: resilience, courage, adaptability, and the ability to bring people together in demanding times.<\/p>\n
The Longueuil team stood out for its exceptional leadership in an economically challenging market environment.
\nFaced with significant challenges, the team rallied around a clear action plan: reducing expenses, generating new revenue opportunities, and strengthening operational discipline.
\nLongueuil also demonstrated its leadership through concrete and lasting improvements: the modernization of the Armabec plant and the strengthening of operational controls on job sites.
\nThis ability to inspire action, empower teams, and deliver results makes Longueuil a fully deserving recipient of this recognition.<\/p>\n
The Ontario team, for its part, distinguished itself through its resilience, collaboration, and adaptability during a period of transition.<\/p>\n
In a difficult market, also marked by organizational changes, the team managed to maintain profitability, ensure the successful implementation of Oracle, and guarantee continuity of operations. Several employees naturally stepped up, took on new responsibilities, and supported their colleagues in order to stabilize operations and maintain team engagement.<\/p>\n
Ontario also demonstrated a strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Teams supported other business units facing operational challenges, while initiatives such as the “plant innovation group” enabled plant employees to put forward ideas and deploy continuous improvement solutions.<\/p>\n
Ontario’s leadership was therefore expressed not only through results, but also through its ability to engage, support, and mobilize people across the organization.

The Social Commitment Award was presented to AGF Peru, which stood out for its deep and lasting dedication to its community.<\/p>\n
The team did not simply respond to one-time needs: it identified concrete opportunities to create meaningful long-term impact. Through technical training workshops, AGF Peru transformed its Planta Dovelas facility into a genuine training space, enabling local workers to develop new skills and open doors to future professional opportunities.<\/p>\n
The team also launched a major ophthalmology campaign, providing access to eye care and affordable prescription glasses for workers and their families.<\/p>\n
Since 2023, AGF Peru has also been strengthening community ties through soccer tournaments bringing together local residents and construction teams. Through sport, shared meals, and solidarity, these activities create authentic and lasting human connections.<\/p>\n
Congratulations to the entire AGF Peru team on this well-deserved recognition!<\/p>\n
The Performance Award was presented to the Rendan team in Halifax, which stood out through an impressive combination of discipline, innovation, and operational excellence.<\/p>\n
The team significantly exceeded its sales budget, while effectively managing reinforcing steel offcuts (scrap). These results were achieved while maintaining an excellent level of service to job sites.<\/p>\n
The business unit also successfully installed an automated bending machine without interrupting its operations, all while continuing to build a strong, trust-based relationship with its clients.<\/p>\n
Beyond operational results, the team also brought together office, plant, and job site employees as part of an AGF Group Foundation initiative earlier this year, demonstrating that performance can also be driven by cohesion and collective engagement.<\/p>\n
