AGF Peru has recently secured a major contract as part of the first phase of construction of the V\u00eda Expresa Santa Rosa, a landmark project for mobility in Lima and the Callao region.<\/p>\n

Carried out with the Puente Chalaco Consortium, AGF Peru’s direct client, this contract represents approximately 5,000 metric tons of rebar<\/strong> for our teams. The consortium brings together two world-renowned players in the sector: Aecon, a Canadian leader in megaproject management, and Sacyr, a Spanish multinational recognized in civil engineering.<\/p>\n

This is a strong vote of confidence in AGF Peru’s expertise and a new opportunity to contribute to a strategic infrastructure project for the region’s development.<\/p>\n

A landmark project for mobility in Lima<\/h4>\n

The V\u00eda Expresa Santa Rosa includes the construction of an elevated viaduct that will connect the Costa Verde to the new terminal of Jorge Ch\u00e1vez International Airport. Once completed, this infrastructure aims to significantly improve access to the airport while easing travel between Lima and Callao.<\/p>\n

This project will also have a concrete impact for commuters in the region, by optimizing travel for 30 to 37 million annual passengers heading to Jorge Ch\u00e1vez Airport, while also helping to reduce congestion in the districts of La Perla, Bellavista, and Callao. The integration of green spaces and bike paths will further enhance the area’s urban planning.<\/p>\n

AGF Peru’s Involvement in Phase 1<\/h4>\n

The first phase of the project includes several large-scale elements, including the Santa Rosa bridge, 65 metres long and 18.90 metres wide, which will have four traffic lanes. It also includes the construction of the Morales Du\u00e1rez underpass, a 1.1 km tunnel, as well as 2.8 km of riverbank protection along the R\u00edmac River. The planned construction duration is 720 days, or approximately two years.<\/p>\n

The completion of this first phase presents several technical challenges, particularly due to the proximity of the R\u00edmac River.
\nFor the execution of the bridge piles, AGF Peru will collaborate with Soletanche Bachy and Terratest. The work will require deep drilling in unstable alluvial soils with a high water table, in order to ensure the seismic resistance of the structures.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the high reinforcement density required for the post-tensioned structures will demand rigorous synchronisation at every stage.<\/p>\n

Added to this is a significant logistical challenge: the construction of the underpass will have to be carried out without interrupting vehicle traffic on Morales Du\u00e1rez Avenue. Smart detours and temporary modular bridges will therefore be put in place to keep traffic flowing smoothly throughout the works.<\/p>\n

A Strategic Position<\/h4>\n

For AGF Peru, this contract once again confirms the strength of its positioning on major infrastructure projects in the country. Following the construction of Lima’s Metro Line 2, a project involving more than 76,000 metric tonnes of reinforcing steel, the V\u00eda Expresa Santa Rosa represents a new opportunity to showcase the expertise of our teams.<\/p>\n

The location of AGF Peru’s new plant, inaugurated in spring 2026 and situated just 15 minutes from the construction site, is also a significant strategic asset. This proximity will enable just-in-time deliveries (allowing stock to be kept to an absolute minimum and real-time responsiveness to site demand), a high level of agility, and effective support for teams in the field.<\/p>\n
