With the contribution of Charles Tremblay – Technician, Project Officer
If you take the Champlain Bridge to Montreal, perhaps you’ve noticed the striking condo towers in the Evolo project on the northern tip of Nuns’ Island, with their magnificent views of the river. AGF Rebar has been a key player in this project from the beginning.
From 2011 to the present
AGF Rebar has been involved in this project since 2011. It comprises more than 1,000 residential units over several phases.
Phase 1: Evolo 1
Evolo 1 is the first tower in the Pointe-Nord neighbourhood, built between 2011 and 2013. The 30-storey tower required 2,850 metric tons (MT) of reinforcing steel.
Phase 3: Pavilion
A six-storey pavilion and esplanade were built between 2011 and 2012, with 350 MT of rebar installed.

Phase 4: Evolo S
The 26-storey Evolo S tower was built between 2015 and 2017, with 1,875 MT of rebar.
Phase 5: Evolo X
Since June 2017, Acier AGF has been working on the Evolo X tower, which is slated for completion in 2019. The 36-storey building represents 3,100 MT of rebar. To date, we have installed a total of 1,300 MT.

Stellar performance
AGF’s employees have demonstrated remarkable productivity, with an average of 5.83 hours/MT installed across the various phases of the project, which will total more than 8,000 MT of rebar.
Congratulations and keep up the excellent work!
