    Acquisition of Cobra - AGF Group

    I am pleased to announce that Cobra Rebar Services (Cobra) is joining the AGF Group family in November 2018.

    Cobra is a well-established rebar company that has been doing business in Chilliwack in the Fraser Valley Regional District near Vancouver, for close to 20 years.

    Here are some examples of the variety of projects the company has worked on:

    • Gold House Towers condo development in Burnaby BC – currently under construction, ranging from 26 to 41 storeys.
    • Wave condo tower in Surrey BC. Built in 2015, the project includes 236 residential units.
    • Central City Professional Building in Surrey BC. An 11-storey commercial building housing offices, medical centres, training facilities and stores.

    This partnership will undoubtedly bring new growth opportunities, both for AGF Group and the new business unit that is joining our team.

    In teaming up with us, Cobra will benefit from support from our head office for all aspects of procurement, finance, IT, and health and safety. The entire Cobra team, headed by Ed Manz, president, and VP Paul Sousedik, will remain in their positions.

    For AGF Group, it means broadening its geographic presence in Western Canada and benefiting from Cobra’s reputation for excellent service.
