Congratulations to Maxime Gendron, Eng., ASC, President and CEO of AGF Group, for receiving the special recognition “Family Business” at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 Awards, Eastern Region. This honour highlights his leadership in blending family tradition with a strong drive for growth.
A Recognition of Entrepreneurial Excellence
The EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards celebrate entrepreneurs who shape the economy with courage and integrity. The “Family Business” category honours leaders who combine business performance with strong family values.
Since its founding in 1948 by Laurent Gendron, AGF has embodied entrepreneurial audacity, with over 55,000 construction projects completed to date.
For Maxime Gendron, representing the third generation at the helm of this 100% Canadian family business, this recognition reflects his commitment to growing AGF Group while preserving a people-centered company culture and leading ambitious projects both nationally and internationally.
A Shared Pride
This special recognition also celebrates the collective effort of the entire AGF team, united by Maxime’s vision: working together toward a shared mission of performance and social engagement. AGF contributes to major, high-impact construction projects such as hospitals, public transit infrastructures, bridges and schools. The AGF teams create lasting value for clients, employees, partners and communities, notably through the AGF Group Foundation, founded by Serge Gendron in 2012.
Let’s celebrate this new recognition awarded to AGF, which reaffirms the central role of family businesses in the Canadian economy and inspires future leaders to combine performance with human values.
