    • $30.28/hour (Ontario) + benefits
    • $35.23/hour (Nova Scotia) + benefits

    What does a reinforcing steel ironworker do?

    Reinforcing steel ironworkers are at the core of reinforced concrete construction projects across Canada.

    Their work involves:

    • Cutting, bending, and shaping reinforcing steel according to specifications;
    • Assembling rebar and wire mesh using tie wire, welding or mechanical couplers;
    • Ensuring the strength and durability of concrete structures.

    • Good physical condition
    • Willingness to travel within the province of employment
    • Union membership
    • WHMIS certification
    • Entry-level or experienced reinforcing steel ironworkers welcome (transfer opportunities in the trade)
