Tonnage: 3 500 TM
Year: 2020-2022
Contractor: Eiffage-Infracon Halfway River
The Highway 29 project was built over the Halfway River, in the Peace Valley, British Columbia. This undertaking is part of a collaborative effort between AGF Rebar Calgary and AGF Rebar Vancouver.
Our team is in charge of the production and installation of 3,300 MT of reinfrocing steel, with 500 MT of stainless steel and 2,800 MT of black steel.
It’s a large bridge of over 1km, with the largest piers reaching 47 meters in height. It will be used to reorient the existing highway. Once the Site C dam is opened, the Peace River valley will be flooded beneath the new reservoir and the old bridge will be under approximately 45 meters of water.
AGF started work on site in February 2020 and we are scheduled to finish the deck in late May to early June of 2021. There will be a break in the project from December to April in order to erect the girders for the bridge deck.
