Ferralia-AGF Colombia has just completed work on a huge new project. Our division has been hard at work supplying, fabricating and installing rebar, as well as formwork and concrete work, for the Bosa University Hospital south of Bogotá. This project, which represents 2,032 MT of reinforcing steel, began on June 1, 2021, and was completed on June 30, 2022.
This was also the first public-private project between the Bogotá City Council and a Spanish contractor, Constructora Ortiz.
The large L-shaped building, surrounded by 7,500 m2 of gardens, now has 240 beds.
“In 2020, Colombia had 1.7 beds per 1,000 inhabitants, compared to 2.1 in the region and 4.7 in OECD countries,” according to the organization itself. This is a big step forward for the district of Bosa, which now has a population of more than 420,000.
