AGF Group Foundation’s fourth annual benefit event: a real blockbuster

On May 11, the AGF Group Foundation rolled out the red carpet to welcome some 225 guests to Cinérama. The fourth edition of the annual fundraiser, which this year had a cinematic theme, spotlighted the talent of all the Foundation’s players and broke records both for attendance and money raised.

For the past five years, AGF employees have been volunteering to hold fundraisers in their units. Last year alone, 83 initiatives were organized. For its part, the Foundation presents benefit events that appeal to the generosity of its suppliers, customers and other AGF partners. They are not necessarily familiar with the Foundation’s mission and activities. This year, Cinérama gave them an opportunity to find out more.

Eight of the projects funded by the Foundation were presented to a capacity crowd. Seven acclaimed chefs, supported by their teams, a sommelier and a maître d’hôtel—all volunteers—also delivered a masterful performance, serving up a sumptuous menu perfectly paired with fine wines. More than 25 AGF employees worked behind the scenes to make sure the evening came off without a hitch, and their efforts were successful.

In the end, Cinérama broke two records: attendance and money raised for the Foundation. We are very proud to announce net proceeds of $241,000, which will be distributed during the year to Canadian charitable causes that members of the AGF community have taken to heart.

Thanks to the guests for their support, to the chefs, the sommelier and the maître d’hôtel for the professionalism, to the La Tablée des Chefs for its fantastic organization and flawless execution, and to all of you at AGF, who were quick to jump to action.

Cuarta cena de beneficencia de la Fundación Grupo AGF: ¡Gran cine!

El pasado 11 de mayo, la Fundación Grupo AGF sacó la alfombra roja para recibir a los aproximadamente 224 invitados que asistieron a su Cinerama. Esta cuarta cena de beneficencia anual, realizada con el tema del cine, permitió resaltar el talento de todos los actores de la Fundación y de obtener récords de asistencia y de beneficios.

Desde hace cinco años, los empleados de AGF organizan de manera voluntaria actividades de recaudación de fondos en sus unidades. Solamente el año pasado, ¡se realizaron más de 83 iniciativas! Por su parte, la Fundación solicita la generosidad de los proveedores, clientes y otros socios de AGF por medio de cenas de beneficencia. Estos últimos no están necesariamente familiarizados con la misión y las acciones de la Fundación; así que este año, Cinerama les dio la oportunidad de hacerlo.

Enfrente de una sala llena, la velada del 11 de mayo puso de relieve ocho proyectos financiados por la Fundación. Siete renombrados chefs acompañados de su equipo, un sumiller y un maître, todos voluntarios, también ofrecieron un servicio magistral con un menú gastronómico armonizado perfectamente con una selección de grandes vinos. Más de 25 empleados de AGF trabajaron tras bambalinas para garantizar que la velada se llevara a cabo de manera impecable. Sus esfuerzos sacaron fruto.

Al final, Cinerama permitió romper dos récords: un récord de asistencia y un récord de beneficios para la Fundación. Es con gran orgullo que anunciamos un beneficio neto de 241 000 CAD; un monto que será redistribuido durante el año a los organismos canadienses que llegan al corazón de los miembros de la comunidad AGF.
