The start of a new year is a valuable opportunity to take a step back, reflect on what we’ve achieved, learn from our experiences, and most importantly, clarify the path we want to take.
2025 was a challenging year
The economic environment grew more complex and some markets began to slow down. Despite this, AGF kept moving forward, delivering major projects such as:
- Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge (10,000 MT) – An impressive structure delivered alongside Dragados Canada Inc., Roxboro Excavation Inc., and Construction Demathieu & Bard.
- Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC) (4,500 MT) – Following the successful execution of the CAMH project in Toronto, PCL once again placed its trust in us for their Vancouver site.
- Île d’Orléans Bridge – After fabricating and installing the caisson piles during the first phase of the project in 2025, we were selected to complete all reinforcing steel work.
- Valley Line LRT (5,000 MT) – Our Calgary team is contributing to the construction of this 14-kilometre light rail transit line in Edmonton.
- LRT and Ontario Line (+18,500 MT) – AGF Rebar is involved in the construction of multiple stations and track sections for Toronto’s light rail transit and subway system.
- MI’KWAW Native Friendship Centre (375 MT) – Delivered in collaboration with Pomerleau in Halifax, this Indigenous cultural centre is an important project for the community.
Several business units stood out:
- AGF Rebar in Vancouver exceeded expectations.
- AGF Olympic in Caraquet, Cobra Rebar in Chilliwack and Katy Steel in Texas all delivered excellent results.
Our sales teams remain active and in high demand and we can be especially proud of our health and safety culture: business units of AGF Rebar in Canada have earned COR certification, a milestone that reflects their commitment and professionalism on the job site.
In Latin America, business development continues, strengthened by the addition of new managers. AGF Tecnik continues to support the group through technological innovation. In Europe, major infrastructure projects are progressing, while in the Caribbean we are contributing to smaller but essential projects that make a real difference to local communities.
These successes demonstrate two things: the market’s confidence in our expertise and the strength of our teams.
A company in motion
AGF has always been evolving. For more than 75 years, we have navigated economic cycles, technological shifts and market changes. What sets us apart is our ability to adapt and remain agile, whether in our processes or technical expertise.
The implementation of tools like Oracle (ERP) and Dayforce (integrated HR and payroll system) is part of this ongoing evolution. These systems help us streamline operations and work more efficiently, for both our teams and our partners.
They are a key enabler to deliver on client expectations, execute large-scale projects and maintain our position as an industry leader.
The strength of the group
Our future rests on two key foundations:
- A culture of collaboration: the synergies between our business units allow us to continuously improve as a team and successfully execute ambitious projects.
- A continuous drive to innovate: in our industry, innovation doesn’t mean reinventing everything. It means finding smarter ways to work, adopting new tools and remaining open to emerging ideas, including artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.
The market is cyclical, it slows down and then picks up. AGF has a solid foundation, deep expertise and the talent to seize future opportunities. Our teams are agile, collaborative and committed, and I’m extremely proud of them.
2026 will be a year of strategic consolidation and momentum. We will continue to build with rigor and team spirit, ready to take on the major projects ahead.
Thank you to every member of the AGF family for your dedication and to our clients and partners for their trust.
