Much more than an intership

Every employee has an important place in AGF Group, regardless of their position, status or seniority. We all work together toward the same common goal: the success of our company.

The same is true for the interns we regularly welcome. We are pleased to provide them with a fulfilling work environment so they can discover the workings of the company and put into practice the theory they learned during their university courses.

We have been fortunate to integrate very responsible people who give us a relevant and valuable outside view of our processes.

Beyond guidance, we offer them the possibility of training. This is the case with Thomas Gauthier-Gendron and Hans Pete Meva’a, the two interns working this summer in Longueuil, respectively in the Health and Safety and the Continuous Improvement departments.

Marilyne Barbey, Eng., who is director of Continuous Improvement, trained them in the Lean Six Sigma method, one of the objectives of which is to gain a better understanding of the Group’s needs and find solutions in collaboration with employees. Following a five-hour training session, they both obtained the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

Skills transfer is essential for these budding young professionals. We’re proud to have them on our teams. And who knows, we might see them again in a few years!

MUCHO MÁS QUE UNA PASANTÍA

Todos los empleados tienen un lugar importante en Grupo AGF, cualquiera que sea su puesto, su estatus o su antigüedad. Trabajamos todos juntos con el mismo objetivo: el éxito de nuestra empresa.

Lo mismo sucede con los pasantes que recibimos regularmente. Tenemos el placer de ofrecerles un ambiente de trabajo estimulante para que descubran el funcionamiento de la empresa y que puedan poner en práctica los aspectos teóricos abordados durante su programa académico.

Tenemos la fortuna de integrar personas muy responsables que nos ofrecen una perspectiva externa, pertinente y enriquecedora sobre nuestros procedimientos.

Más allá del acompañamiento, les ofrecemos la oportunidad de desarrollarse. Es el caso de Thomas Gauthier-Gendron y de Hans Pete Meva’a, nuestros dos pasantes presentes este verano en Longueuil en los departamentos de Salud y Seguridad y de Mejora Continua, respectivamente.

Marilyne Barbey, Ing., Directora del Departamento de Mejora Continua, los capacitó con el método Lean Six Sigma, cuyo uno de los objetivos es tener una mejor comprensión de las necesidades del grupo y encontrar soluciones en colaboración con los empleados.

Gracias a esta capacitación de cinco horas, los dos pasantes obtuvieron el nivel de cinturón amarillo de Lean Six Sigma.

La transmisión de competencias es esencial para estos prometedores jóvenes profesionales. Nos enorgullece tenerlos en nuestros equipos. ¿Quién sabe? Tal vez nos encontraremos con ellos en algunos años.
